This sketch will give you the basic interior plan of my breeding loft. This is a small loft, but the way that it's layed out has worked very well for me. Of course a larger loft would be nice. As you can see there is one community breeding pen, and 2 smaller holding pens. The two sections marked (Ind. Pairs) are individual breeding pens, each unit is 3 cages high. The individual pens are 2'x2' and around 18" high. The birds can have access to the holding pens and the fly-pens if I choose.
This view shows my cabinets and countertop. As you can see, I have plenty of storage space, although the cabinets and drawers are small. On the left is one of the individual breeding units, and beyond that is the outside door.
This view looking towards the main breeding section shows the built-in individual breedings pens next to one of the holding pens. The small size of the loft makes it difficult to photograph with a cam-corder, but gives an idea of the layout. You can also see the file cards that I use for record keeping. This info will later be added to my RJ AlmoSt Perfect Record Keeping System.
