The name Waconda comes from an Indian tale of a Indian maiden who fell in love with a young brave from another tribe... Of course this union was never blessed by the fathers and was never to be. The young brave to prove his honor, left on a battle raid and was struck down with an arrow, mortally wounded he fell into the Waconda Springs. Stricken with greif, the Princess threw herself into the springs to be with him and she to lost her life. But the unselfish show of this love forever bound their souls together.
