WRHL INTRODUCES NEW BEER

The WRHL will release an official beer this Saturday
at a Halloween gathering in Lenexa. The beer is called
Wolf River Brew and is made in Hiawatha by a member of
the league. The beer will be sold for $2.50 a bottle,
and profits will go toward operational costs for the
league. Officials believe that Wolf River Brew will
make the WRHL the only hockey league with its own
beer. The NHL has an official beer, but it is not
produced or named after the league. Until a National
Hockey Brew comes out, the NHL can play catch-up with
the WRHL.

KC MAY BE HOMELESS IN 2000

In a surprise twist to the WRHL off-season, it appears
as though Damage Inc. will join the other three teams
in searching for a new rink for the 2000 season.
Although it is not official, the owners of the home
rink for KC, All-American Sports, are pursuing a new
building in order to offer roller hockey year-round.
Sounds great, right? Unfortunately, if they make the
move, the new building will not be ready for hockey
until next July or later. The old building will not be
re-opened if they do.

Of course, Damage is in much better shape than three
northern teams. There are some options for KC, but the
situation in Hiawatha grows more dismal each season.
Obviously, the interest is there; however, the league
will always be on shaky ground in Hiawatha until an
adequate rink magically appears.
