Blacks and Politics

Throughout america we have approximately 10,000 African American elected officials or politicians, this does not take into account those African Americans that are appointed to positions in the political arenas.

African Americans are elected and appointed in great numbers to: school boards, commisions, trustees, city councils, state and federal offices to numerous to mention.

This begs the question, why are our schools, communities, businesses, and financial institutions-to name a few- in such dire straits?

It would be a simple answer to lay the blame at the feet of our African American politicians since we have so many holding so many varied offices but this is not the total answer.

I agree though, that our elected officials could do more to keep us informed and help us to focus more clearly on our substancial issues-rock the boat if you will.

These issues does not include getting the N word banned from dictionaries nor having a flag removed,

it does, however, include include educational and economic self help. such as: supporting African American financial institutions, business and home ownership,

staying abreast of your children's educational progress and other other basic priorities including trust,

and reaching out to our children and young adults to give back our life's experiences that may help them in some way.

To be honest we are not doing any of these on a major scale. why not and whose fault is it anyway? In later installments we will cover.

1. Who are our leaders or who do we listen to

2. Are our leaders compromised

3. How can we begin to repair our psychologically damaged minds.....
