This is the place to find updates on
little miss Covey's life!
After a very long absence, Covey's journal is starting up again :) Covey is now living with our friends the Schmittdiel's at their barn with their Thoroughbred gelding, Andy. She seems extremely happy! Unfortunately I do not get to visit her as often as I would like :(
- 1/21/01 - I haven't been able to constructively ride Covey since the cold weather set in - not that I really evern 'constructively' ride her hehe - because Heidi's place doesn't have an indoor and the snow and ice have been horrible! I hopped on her bareback in the paddock the last time I saw her though. It was sooo comfy to be on her again. We just walked around in the snowy paddock and Andy followed us every once in awhile. I was being careful to keep him at a distance if he was trying to nibble at her or anything! I brought Covey a bunch of Christmas treats I kept forgetting to bring out: a stocking of Mrs. Pastures, "stud muffins", and another bag of Mrs, Pastures. Heidi was there so I helped her feed and muck and stuff and then I went off to see Honey!
Riding Log: I rode Covey 3
times last week and she was calm for them all :)
- 3/29/00 - Well, it's been 3 long days since I've been out to the barn. I've had a bad case of the snifflies etc. etc. etc. :P and haven't felt well enough to brave the dust and grime and 3 hour round trip. Poooooor pooooonies!! But, an update from Sunday, March 26th! Sunday was the day our barn, Crescent Ridge, hosted a judging clinic for 4-H Judging teams. We all thought it was just going to be a group of ohhh ten people at the most, but lo and behold - it was for 4-H counties all over the state!
Schnikes :) Covey was scheduled to go into the English halter with me but they only needed 4 people per class and due to her temporarily deformed knee hehe she got the boot. ::sniffle:: So I groomed her anyway. From a distance she looked incredibly clean and sparkly when I was finished, but if you up close and viewed her from the right light, you could see little speckles and strips of DUST. EEEK I hope it gets warm soon so I can
give her another bath. She gets dirty soo quickly these days.
'tis all for this fine evening! Check back if you're
curious about the Clover's every day occurences.
