March 3, 1999. After digging most of the afternoon, the landowner arrived at the site. When he found out I hadn't been having very good luck, he suggested using his "Cat" to move lots of unwanted dirt in a hurry. This was a welcomed idea. Here he's in the process of doing just that. After each trip with the "Cat" the freshly exposed matrix was check for more bones.
March 3, 1999. Here's the view when the owner finished arranging the countryside. He removed all the lower dirt as well as the "cap rock". The elusive femur is still missing. But, I haven't given up hope yet. This is one of those sites where you dig all day, and then just as your ready to quit, you find something that sparks your interest.
