Hey, welcome to my homepage. If your here then you want to know about me. So here goes.
My Name is Nicole. I also go by Nici or NiciLynn.
I am 20 years old.
I've been married for almost two years. I have no kids, but look forward to having some in the future.
My husband William is career Air Force. I love being a military spouse. It's great to be a part of such a great organization. Even if it is a behind the scenes job. I get to see things I probably would never have seen otherwise. It is like a banner I can wave high and proud. I am proud of my husband and the other Americans that do his job.
I am a student in Southeastern Kansas, studying Journalism/ Mass Communications. Currently I'm taking a year off. I've been writing since I was thirteen and I love it. I have started numerous novels but I haven't quite had the time to finish them. I love to write editorials and reviews. Someday I wish to write for a newspaper or magazine but until then I'll just post them here.
My husband and I are Mentors with Big Brother/Big Sister. This is a very rewarding and fun organization. Each year this organization helps keep children off drugs, out of gangs and boost their self-esteem.
I live in Kansas, but I am an Arkansas native. I grew up in a tiny, rural farming community in Northeastern Arkansas. The literal one horse town. Two grocery stores, and a bunch of antique shops. I couldn't wait to get out and now I wanna go back. Isn't that the way it goes though.
I am very proud of my Southern heritage. People from the South have such a unique quality about them, and I love that. If you've ever been around Southern people it's like being in a foreign land. We talk different and act different. Our language is so different from all the others. We've got that southern twang. I think it is funny when I talk to someone and say something that is perfectly normal to me but it just throws them off. They just kinda look at you and go "what???" It's really funny, but usually in that same sentence they go you're from the South aren't you? People in the South don't just shake your hand they give you a hug and a kiss. Holidays are always special. There are always the women in the kitchen cooking turkey, ham, dumplins, and all that other good food, and they are always talking about the men. And the men are usually in the living room, watching sports of some sort, or outside somewhere and they are talking about the women.
There is only one downfall to living in the South, and that is they think you’re dumb. I dare you go up to a person you've never met at a party or something and tell them from your from the South. I swear they will drop at least 50 points from your IQ. They will slow their speech down and talk really loud. Plus they will avoid any intelligent conversation because they are positive that you will not know anything about it.
I'm a history buff. I like anything related to the Civil War (especially the confederate battle flags). I also like the Pony Express. That is probably my favorite time in history. The Express was just so exciting, and dangerous. It only lasted 18 months, but this is probably one of the most well known periods in history. William F. Cody is my hero, and he rode for the express. I also like World War I & II. History is just so neat. It's amazing how far we have come over the years, but yet some how it almost seems like it would be better in the "old" days.
I love to garden. Daisies are my favorites. I used to work with my Grandpa. He is a landscaper and I loved it. I love getting outside and digging in the dirt. The dirtier the better.
I also like working on cars, although I don't know that much about them. My husband loves cars too and so we can work together on stuff sometimes.
I love to read. I am very complex. I like anything from Christian novels to Mysteries. I am a big fan of V.C. Andrews, Iris Johansen, & Ed McBain.{I highly suggest these books.}
I'm not real big on sports, but I do enjoy a few of them. I like NASCAR. My favorite driver is #6 Mark Martin. I like the St. Louis Cardinals. My Grandpa & I used to watch them on TV. My favorite baseball player is Mike Piazza. The only thing that could be better about baseball is if Piazza played for the Cardinals.
I'm kinda wishy-washy about TV. I like just about everything, but I get in moods where all I can watch is one type. A couple of months ago I was addicted to court shows, and last month it was craft shows, this month it is Law & Order. So I'm very diverse. I have my favorites some of them are Boston Public, Gilmore Girls, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Crossing Jordan, The Huntress, ER, CSI, JAG, Designing Women, & The Young Riders.
Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons. I like Spring cause everything is blooming, and I like Fall cause everything is crisp and fresh. The cool crisp weather is great. I can breathe better then too, cause my sinuses are always screwed up.
This isn't my first web page, and it doesn't look to be the last. In addition to Nicole's Place & The SageBrush Saloon, I also have The Jesus Pages, Bean's Page, The Beanpot . I Co-own The Cody For Better Representation Campaign with a good TYR friend Cristy. My newest web project is a new site dedicated to the women on TV. It is Prominent Women Of TV. I also moderate my church web page.
I moderate two WebRings. The History to Television Webring profiles sites about movies, TV shows, mini-series, and etc. that are taken from historical events, or people. The Prominent Women Of TV WebRing profiles sites about important or prominent women in the public eye. Fictional or Non-Fictional.
I am also an editor for The Open Directory Project (ODP) I currently only moderate one category, but when I get my quota, 25 edits, I can take another catergory. Which I am looking forward to.
