Alice **1/2

First of all, much appologies to the one person who actually reads my reviews. Yup that's you AJ, and Betsy, I can't forget Betsy. Anyway, I'm sorry you had to wait so long for this review. Luckily Voyager was a repeat last week so it gave me some time to catch up. Enough with the pleasentries, lets get cracking.

This is what I call a satisfactory episode, last season was filled with them. It didn't really stand out like the previouse episodes of this season. Let me brake it down. First of all, the episode would have been a fantastic chance for the writters to do some exciting character develpoment with Tom. But no, they had to turn it into 'Car Shop Time With Tommy!' I was so mad that the writters didn't sieze the oppertunity to do some awsome stuff with him. Tom is a intricate character, who we still know little about. I would have prefered watching him endlessly squable with B'Elanna than play with his new toy.

The second weakness was the effect that the story had on me. What effect you ask? Exactly. I felt nothing, no sorrow for Tom's predicament or the ships need to return home. It was dead pan. Even the scenes with B'Elanna and Tom were weak, save for the last scene which actually had some emotional content. It would have been a much more effective episode if they had taken the time to explore Tom and B'Elanna's relationship through an intellectual standpoint. I agreed with Roxann Dawson when she said that she wanted to see more interesting talks with her character and Tom. It would be refreshing to see Tom share his emotions and fears with his girlfriend, and visa versa.

All and all it was a pretty weak episode, that had a lot of potential. Unfortunatly the writters blew it, and so did the actors, and, as we know, they are both capable of doing a much better job.

Next Week: Repeat

The Week After That: Tuvok is laughing while baking a cake. Illogical.
