About the store

Perched on the bluffs of the Missouri River, Atchison also is the birthplace of Amelia Earhart, and her childhood home has been converted into a museum. Walk through the brick streets and see 19 National Register of Historic listings. If youĂre feeling too weary from browsing the array of shops and antique stores, especially the stimulating Nell Hills, you can visit the Santa Fe Depot (Atchison is the Birthplace of the famed Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad) and take a trolley ride which will take you to four tourist areas, including the Muchnic Art Gallery. In mid-October, Atchison has fall foliage tours, and during the week of Halloween, a haunted homes tour is sure to spook you.

About 70 percent of the  stores in Atchison are tourist - oriented, with Nell Hills, an up-scale home furnishings store, being the big draw.
