11:21 A.M.
FBI HEADQUARTER
WASHINGTON, D.C.

She looked up into the sky of the cold wintery day. Then she looked into her hand, there was a soda pop in it. Then without any warning, she shook it, and threw it! It hit the first step and bounced up and hit another on it's way down the stairs. She didn't know what got into her. She was simply enjoying her vanilla ice cream cone, then BAM!!! She wasn't who she was any more. Her friends were terrified of her...

Mulder paused the TV screen and looked at Scully. She was sitting there with a strange look on her face. God he loved her.

"This is Kristina Blant. A somewhat normal sixteen year old who goes to high school." Mulder told Scully.

"You think this is an X-File. Why?" Scully asked.

"Scully. It's obvious. I've talked with some of her friends and she is usual a very laid back person. Also, I believe that she was..."

"Abducted by aliens?" Scully interrupted.

"See, we didn't have to go to any team building seminar, we think alike. Right now, she is in a highly secured mental institution, ranting on about government conspiracies, alien abductions, and people call me Spooky."

"So now I bet your going to drag me out there to do a medical examination, right?" Scully asked, already knowing the answer.

"Yes! Exactly!" snapped Mulder excitedly.

"When do we leave?"

"As soon as possible, I prefer to get out of here before Fowley comes. I believe that she and Cancer Man know something about this, and will try to stop me. So let's go!"

"Ok, but I'm driving."

As they were walking out they passed Agent Jeffery Spender, he warned them that Agent Diana Fowley was on her way down to the basement to stop them from whatever they were up to.

ST. VINCE'S MENTAL INSTITUTION
HOLLYVILLE, VIRGINIA
CELL: C13

"Kristina? These are Agent Mulder and Scully with the FBI. They want to ask you a few questions, is that ok?" The nurse walked over to them. "She doesn't talk much, but you can try." The nurse leaves the room.

Scully stood in the back of the cell taking notes. Mulder walked over to Kristina. She was huddled in the corner of the padded cell, in a straight jacket. Her blond hair was in her face. Mulder squatted down in front of her. She looked up at him with a crazy look in her eyes...

"You have to get me out of here." She said softly, but insanely. "They are going to kill me."

"Who's going to kill you? Mulder asked.

"*Them*, the ones who do the test, who did the test to me, and her." She pointed over to Scully who was still standing in the back. "They're after all of us. They have different ways of doing it too. They're going to eventually kill us all." She was still speaking softly to him.

Mulder looked deep into her eyes and could see the terror in her eyes. Maybe she wasn't insane, maybe she is trying to warn everyone, like Cassandra Spender before she died. Mulder thought to himself.

"You know, they took me away, like they did to her." She said a little louder but still a whisper, she was still referring to Scully.

"Who took you where?" Mulder asked.

"The man in charge of the tests. An old man, who always smelled like smoke, and an ugly, a woman I think, but I don't know if she was human or not. They took me to this place, I don't know where it was though. I was scared. The doctors said I shouldn't be afraid, they weren't going to hurt me, that's what he said to me. But they did." She was getting louder. "If you don't get me out of here, they're going to kill me! They're going to kill her, and you!" She was shouting now. She got up and wiggled herself out of the straight jacket.

Mulder looked over at Scully. They were shocked how she could easily get out of the straight jacket.

"They're coming, our days are numbered! There won't be any stopping them!" She was still shouting.

The nurse came running in with three other people. They grabbed her. She was still shouting warnings at them.

"You must stop them before they come! Reveal the truth, it will save you both, and every one!! Stop them! STOP THEEEEMM!!!!!!"

A nurse ordered them to leave the room as a doctor came in.

HIGHWAY 22

"I know what you’re thinking Mulder." Scully told him.

"But Scully, everything she was saying makes sense. Think about it. Cassandra Spender, before she died. What about that?"

"Mulder, Kristina Blant is insane. That's why she's in a *mental institution*."

"That's not the point, Scully. She's right, our days *are* numbered. they are coming to wipe out this planet." Mulder told her.

"Mulder, you are crazy, that is why you relate to her so well. She's crazy, you're crazy."

Mulder looked over at her and smiled. He realized that she was right. But that's what he loved about her. Her skepticism. She made him work to find the truth, so he would know it to be right when he found it. That's why he loved her. When he was working with Diana Fowley, they didn't work for anything, they just assumed. He wondered how many times he had been wrong in the past, while working with Fowley.

"There has to be more. I mean, why was she like that. I want to go talk to the witnesses, the one's who know her." Mulder said.

JONES RESIDENCE
205 EXETER STREET

"Margaret ,how long have you known Kristina?" Scully asked.

"I've known her since we were in the fifth grade together." Margaret answered.

"In the years that you have known her, did she ever disappear for a certain length of time? Did she ever have any strange behavior after that?" Mulder asked.

"Well, when we first met, she was pretty normal. But, one day, she just disappeared. We were all worried. She was missing for three weeks. When she came back, it was like I didn't know her. She had all these crazy stories about alien abductions, but no one believed her, they were too crazy, the stories I mean. She said that they were coming to kill us all. She became very paranoid. She kept saying that the government was after her, and they were coming to kill her. I wasn't shocked when they took her to the mental institution. I don't think any one was shocked. Everyone expected it to happen sooner or later."

"Was she insane all the time?" Scully asked.

"No. It always happened when ever she had dessert. Maybe it was the time of day."

"Ice cream." Mulder said, "Did she ever have ice cream?"

"Yes, vanilla. But what does that have to do with it?"

"Thank you. You have been a great help." Mulder said. Then he signaled to Scully to go.

They are walking outside now.

"Mulder? What does vanilla ice cream have to do with it?" Scully asked.

"I don't know. But it has to do with something, I know that. Maybe it triggers something that makes her that way. Maybe something was put into her that reacts a certain way to vanilla ice cream." Mulder suggested.

"You are crazy Mulder." Scully told him. "Maybe we should talk to more people about this instead of assuming that it's vanilla ice cream, don't you think?"

"Ice cream sounds good, wanna go get some?"

"Mulder, we are on a case right now."

"Yeah. So? What if I feel like buying you some ice cream? I know a great place."

THE SYNDICATE

A musty room... smells bad of smoke, in a big building. Windows aren't open... they are too paranoid.

"Mulder must be killed. He's on to our new conspiracy." Said the Cigarette-Smoking Man.

"If you kill Mulder, what will be the fun in torturing him?" Said Diana Fowley. "And what about our plans?"

"Good point." Said the Cigarette-Smoking Man.

The phone rings. Everyone looks at it... scared to death. We hear a "tinkle, tinkle" from a corner... the man in the corner peed his pants. An assistant answers.

"Sir, it's for you."

"How did you get this number?" Asked the Smoking Man.

Over the phone.

"This is Krycek. I have some news you might be interested in. But I can't tell you over the phone. Meet me at the usual place, and leave Fowley behind this time."

He hangs up the phone and turns to Fowley.

"I have some where to go."

He leaves.

8:24 P.M.
JOHN'S BOWLING

Alex Krycek walked into the bowling ally. There must have been some kind of tournament going on. He looked around and spotted the Smoking-Man standing by the back door. He looked stern at Krycek, then slipped out the back. Krycek followed.

He stepped outside and saw him standing under a tree, in the shadows. He also spotted someone else, Fowley. The bastard brought Fowley with him! After he specifically told him *not* to!

"Why the hell did you bring her with you? I specifically told you not to!" Krycek shouted. "She must leave now. What I have to tell you does not concern her."

"We don't hide anything from eachother, it's the best way." Said the Smoking-Man.

"Funny that you say that." Krycek answered.

"What is it that you have to tell us? Fowley asked.

Krycek just looked at them. He signaled for the Smoking-Man to follow him, *away* from Fowley.

"What is it you have to tell me?" Smoking-Man asked.

"You shouldn't trust her. She's not who she says she is."

"Your ridiculous, Alex!"

The Cigarette Smoking-Man walked back to Fowley. Krycek let him go.

"What did he say?" Fowley asked.

"He said that I shouldn't trust you."

"Right now, I think we can only trust eachother. He can't be trusted. I've always thought that. We must get rid of him. He has betrayed us." Fowley hissed.

He just looked at her. She knew what the look meant too. He would take care of it, someway.

The usual way.

"I'll take care of him. You keep doing what you have to do. You deal with Mulder and Scully." He told her.

"What are you going to do?"

"What I have to do." he answered back.

He got in the car and waited for her to get in. Krycek had already left.

12:10 A.M.
OFFICE OF THE LONE GUNMEN

Melvin Frohike got up and walked over to the security camera, it was Mulder. Why was he coming at this hour of the night, and where was Scully?

He walked over to the door and unlatched all of the many locks that were positioned along the door.

"Do you have any idea what time it is, Mulder?"

"Yeah, but Scully needs you to do something, so I thought you wouldn't mind." he answered back.

Langly and Byers finally came out. All three of them were in their pajamas with ridiculous robes on.

I have strange friends. Mulder thought to himself.

"What does she need?" Byers asked.

"She need you to look at something she found in a blood sample." Mulder told them.

Langly went over and put the blood sample in a machine. Some lines came up on the computer screen.

"Wow!" Langly shouted.

"What's that?" Mulder asked.

"Nothing we've ever seen." Frohike added.

"It looks like there is some kind of metallic substance in this blood." Byers added. "Where did you get this?"

"From someone." Mulder told them.

"What can we do?" Langly asked.

"Nothing." Mulder told them. He got out his cell phone and hesitated. He hated to wake Scully up at this hour, but he had done it several other times. She would like to know what had been discovered anyways. He dialed. He heard her tired voice come over the phone.

"Scully, it's me. I went ahead and tested what you found in the blood sample, from Kristina Blant." He told her.

"What did you find?" She asked over the phone.

"We found that it was some kind of metallic substance."

"Metallic substance? Is it identified?"

"I don't know. I think you should get over here right away. I'm with the Lone Gunmen."

"I figured as much, I'll be there right away."

Mulder hung up the phone.

"Is she coming?" Frohike asked.

"Yeah." Mulder said.

Frohike left to get into decent cloths. He knew he had no chance, going up against Mulder. He knows that Mulder loved her, and thinks that Scully loved him. He just wished that they would tell eachother. That way he could get Mulder's video collection... "Hawaiian Bunny"... that was his favorite. But he knew that Mulder could tell her, but Scully...

There was a knock at the door. It was Scully.

"What have you found?" She asked.

"This." Langly said, pointing at the computer screen. Scully looked at the screen. She looked at Mulder with the look of shock.

3:45 A.M.
THE WATERGATE APARTMENTS

Diana Fowley laid in her bed, she couldn't sleep. All she could think about was what Krycek had told him... not to trust her. Did he know? If he did, how did he find out?

She was tired. After all, she had just got back from the FBI Headquarters. She was looking for evidence that Mulder and Scully might have found. She didn't find anything.

I know there was a blood sample. She thought to herself. That damn woman had to take a blood sample. But where the hell was it?

She got up to go to the kitchen, to get a glass of water. She passed the front door, and noticed it was unlocked. She remembered she had locked it... she thinks.

Maybe I'm too old and tired, my memory must be going. She thought to herself.

She started to walk to the door. She heard foot steps behind her.

It's only your imagination. She thought to herself. She locked the door.

She suddenly heard a Rabwin-esque 'thhwit' sound behind her.

She slowly started to turn around when she felt a sharp pierce in the back of her neck. She turned around to see the face of... Alex Krycek.

He did find out the truth about her... she was one of them...

She could feel the green ooze pouring out of the back of her neck, down her spine. She could hear him dialing his cell phone, and she knew who he was calling. She fell to the ground, unable to stop what was happening to her, she was dying. Like the other faceless aliens...

PART THREE

8:00 A.M.
FBI HEADQUARTERS
OFFICE OF A.D. WALTER S. SKINNER

"Is he in?" Mulder asked Skinner's assistant as he walked in the front office.

"He's busy right now sir." She answered "You can't go in!"

Mulder walked in anyways.

"Sir, I need to talk to you." Mulder said.

"I'm sorry, sir." his assistant said.

"It's ok." Skinner told her. "Come in Agent Mulder. What do you need?"

"Agent Scully and I need authority to get back into St. Vince's Mental Institution."

"I can't give you that."

"Why? This is part of our case." Mulder said, raising his voice.

"Agent Fowley told me last night that you and Agent Scully had stolen documents when you were there the first time." Skinner told him.

"What?"

"You and Agent Scully are being released from this case."

"We didn't steal anything sir, call down and see for yourself." Mulder said.

"I already have, they were missing." He continued. "You will both be relieved from this case, and the FBI, for two weeks, without pay."

"But I need to feed my fish!" Mulder whines.

Mulder didn't even notice that Scully was already there. Skinner had called her in before Mulder arrived. Mulder wondered why...

"You both may leave now." Skinner ordered.

"Who's taking over our case?" Scully asked.

"Agent Spender and Agent Fowley." Skinner told them.

Scully looked at Mulder. She couldn't read his expression.

"You can leave now." Skinner ordered again.

They started to walk to the door. Skinner stopped them.

"Off the record, I didn't order this."

"Who did?" Mulder asked.

"A man higher then me." Skinner said.

They left.

10:13 A.M.
AGENT SPENDER'S OFFICE

She's not here, does she expect me to work on this case myself? Ice cream ... as an x-files, Mulder *is* crazy! Spender thought to himself.... a door opens quietly.

"Agent Spender?"

"Oh sir, I didn't hear you come in." Jeffery Spender answered.

"Where's agent Fowley?" Skinner asked.

"I... I don't know. I was just about to start on my own, with out her."

"You might have to do this case on your own. It appears she isn't in town or something."

"What?" Spender Asked.

"She wasn't at her apartment when I called there, I thought she would be here with you."

"No. She hasn't been in yet."

"When she gets in, tell her to go to my office, I need to tell her something." Skinner told him.

"Yes sir, I'll be sure to tell her." Spender answered.

Skinner heads back to his office.

Why do I get stuck with these cases. Spender thought to himself. A crazy girl and ice cream, just doesn't add up.

The phone rings.
He picks up the phone, the ear piece to his mouth... embarrassed ... he quickly switches it.....

"Hello? This is Agent Spender."

The voice came over the phone.

"Who is this?" Spender asks.

The voice answered again.

"I don't even know who you are and you expect me to meet you in an hour?" Spender said.

The phone clicks, they hung up.

"Hello?" Spender said. Then he hung up the phone.

FBI HEADQUARTERS

"Mulder, this is wrong." Scully said. "Diana Fowley is up to something. Why would she had said that to Skinner?"

Mulder was quiet.

"What are you thinking, Mulder?" She asked.

"What if that metallic substance in that girls blood, what if... what if it is a new government conspiracy?" He answers.

"Mulder, what goes through your head everyday?"

"How are you Scully?" He answers.

"What?"

"Are you ok? Is everything fine? I've noticed you've changed your eating habits."

"What exactly does that have to do with our case?"

"Remember, it's not *our* case any more."

"Yeah, but since when do you actually go by the rules?"

"Are you suggesting that we do it anyways?" He asked. He looked at her. She had the look of 'let's do it anyways' in her eyes.

"Scully?" He said in a shocked voice.

"Well Mulder, Agents Spender and Fowley aren't going to be able to, they don't know what we know." She told him.

"And we won't tell them, this is *our* case, an x-file, *our* work." Mulder said.

"Exactly."

"Let's go, I think I've got an idea where to go next."

PART FOUR

12:11 P.M.
ST. VINCE'S MENTAL INSTITUTION

Kristina Blant is sitting in a dark corner of her cell. She knows they are coming for her. More tests. Someone walks in.

"I'm not going to hurt you." The woman says. "But you have something I need."

The woman walks towards her.

"I don't have anything you need. Get away from me!" Kristina yells.

The woman continues to walk towards her, this time, she steps into the light.

That face, that horrible, unforgettable face. The woman from before! What does she need from me? Kristina thought to herself.

"Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you." the woman says.

"Too late, I've been scared for life after seeing your horrid face!" Kristina answered. "I'm not afraid of you, or of dying."

The woman pulls out her gun. Points it point blank at Kristina's head and pulls the trigger. Blood pours out of her head. There is a metallic mixture coming out as well. It moves toward the woman... Diana Fowley.

FBI HEADQUARTERS

"Looks like our case is over." Mulder told Scully. "Kristina Blant was found murdered in her cell around 12:15 this after noon."

"How did she die?" Scully asked.

"Apparently, she was shot by someone." Said an Agent Fowley.....

FBI HEADQUARTERS PARKING GARAGE
3:09 P.M.

"What do you mean she's still alive!" Alex Krycek said very irritated over his cell phone. "I *SAW* her die!" He hangs up the phone. Sits there. Breathing heavily in short frustrated breaths. "GOD!" He screams. Bangs his head on the steering wheel... we hear the honk of the horn as we:

FADE OUT.

THE END
