I don't care what people say. Season 9 is one of my all time favorite seasons. I know there are a lot of people out there who say that the series should've ended when Mulder left, but I think they are wrong. The writing quality of the show this year was better than any... save for season 4. Season 9 is like my season 4. And I love season 4.
All of the stand alones this year have been very strong. I personally didn't care much for the mytharc because that died when the syndicate died. I only wish they could've gone into another season because with the way the writers were writing this season, season 10 would've been awesome too!
I love episodes that dealt with the new characters, Doggett and Reyes, because I find them fresh and interesting. Episodes like 4-D and Release that included Brad Follmer and characterization were my favorites. I wish they would've done more with Follmer, but I guess a lot of people didn't like him. I did. He was cool!
I don't really have a point to this rant, but I don't care because it's my rant. :) Season 9 rocked. I'm so glad the show didn't end with Mulder and Scully. Can you imagine the great stories we would've missed, the new characters, the new plots? I can't imagine. And I'm glad to have seen them! So, thank you to all the writers, cast, crew, yadda yadda yadda for a great ninth season!
