Notes: Chicago takes the ball away on Kansas City’s first drive and turns it into 7
points. The Chiefs drive again, using RB
Joe Delaney’s speed and some opportunistic rushes by QB Bill Kenney to get into
field goal range. The Bears, who 4 years
later would dominate opponents on their way to the Super Bowl, do a good job of
shutting down Kansas City’s
offense. In return, Kansas
City also frustrates Walter Payton and the rest of Chicago’s running game. The result is a field goal battle, made more
difficult by wind and rain throughout the game.
