Notes: The Chiefs block a Cincinnati punt and recover it in the end zone two minutes into the game, and on the next Bengals drive a brawl breaks out when Kinnebrew takes offense to the way he was tackled. The Chiefs defense doesn’t let up for the rest of the game, frustrating QB Boomer Esiason and his typically high-scoring offense.
Todd Blackledge starts under center for the Chiefs and has a decent day, but tends to overthrow his receivers a lot. The Chiefs running backs set the tone for the offense.
