Notes:  First, Romeo Crennel received the traditional Gatorade bath. Up next came the hugs – lots of them. Once Crennel reached the Chiefs locker room, the chants broke out.  “Romeo…Romeo…Romeo.”  It was a celebration that penetrated the concrete walls and metal doors of Kansas City’s locker room to echo throughout the underbelly of Arrowhead Stadium. Raw emotion was at the core of the Chiefs celebration after knocking off previously unbeaten Green Bay 19-14 Sunday afternoon.

Crennel was selected to lead the Chiefs for the remainder of the 2011 season not only because of his experience, but because of his ability to garner a positive reaction from the Kansas City locker room.

Kansas City’s offense rolled up a season-high 438 total yards while the defense pitched a first-half shutout of Green Bay’s league-leading scoring attack. The Packers entered the fourth quarter trailing for the first time in their 19-game winning streak even though the Chiefs had yet to punch in a touchdown.
