Notes:  An 11-yard TD run, a blocked punt out of the end zone, a 46-yard field goal and a 61-yard interception return for a touchdown added up to make another bad Sunday for the hapless Chiefs – their eighth loss in a row.  Not including the three losses by the replacement players in the 1987 strike season, it is their longest losing streak ever.  QB Brodie Croyle tries to stop the interception return, completely misses LB Paris Lenon and somehow injures his throwing hand, once again bringing Damon Huard in as a backup.  Huard then leads the Chiefs to three touchdowns, but the game ends when the Chiefs, needing 58 yards, run a short pass route that is complete to Kolby Smith, who laterals to Samie Parker, who inexplicably falls down on the DET 30-yard line with no time left on the clock.  Another poor performance that leaves Chiefs fans wondering who is running the show on the KC sideline.

RB Jackie Battle, brought in as the second running back behind Kolby Smith, makes his first NFL carry a touchdown run.  DE Jared Allen catches his second touchdown pass in as many weeks.
