Notes:  Kansas City stops the Jets’ drive at the KC 13, and on the subsequent field goal attempt the Jets fake and go for the touchdown.  The pass is incomplete, and the Chiefs offense takes the field.  QB Bill Kenney, in his first start of the season, cannot get anything done against the Jets defense and the Chiefs punt the ball away.  Late in the second quarter CB Russell Carter intercepts another poorly thrown Kenney pass, setting up NY for their second touchdown.  This time it’s a 16-yard pass to TE Mickey Shuler.

In the third quarter, who else – DE Mark Gastineau – recovers a fumble forced by DE Tom Baldwin as it tumbles into the end zone for the third Jets touchdown.  QB Pat Ryan runs in the extra point (two-point conversions had not been allowed yet) while the Chiefs are napping.

Kansas City finally gets on the board early in the fourth quarter with a 7-yard pass to RB Ken Lacy.  The Jets retake a three-touchdown lead when Pat Ryan finds RB Cedric Minter on the run for a 39-yard scoring pass.  The game finishes with the Jets driving and the Chiefs unable to tackle, and KC drops to 4-4.

Missing a play or two in the fourth quarter.  After the game coverage switches to the Raiders-Chargers game with 6 minutes left.

Thanks Jason!
