Notes:  : The "new" Trent Dilfer looked strong for the second consecutive week, throwing for 270 yards and two touchdowns as the Bucs posted consecutive victories. In his two games since replacing the injured Eric Zeier, Dilfer has thrown for five touchdowns and one interception while leading the offense to its two most productive games of the season.

Trailing by a touchdown, Elvis Grbac drove the Chiefs to the Buccaneers 13 with 28 seconds to play. But linebacker Hardy Nickerson intercepted Grbac's pass in the end zone with 17 seconds remaining to kill the threat.

For the second week in a row, Dilfer hooked up with Jacquez Green for a long score, this one a 52-yard touchdown reception that gave Tampa Bay a 17-3 lead in the third quarter. ... The Buccaneers' defense limited Kansas City to 5 passing yards in the first half, a team record.

Tampa Bay won the game despite six turnovers, five fumbles and an interception. Alstott lost three of the fumbles, including one at the Chiefs 20 with just over two minutes remaining and the Bucs looking to put the game away. ... The Bucs didn't take much advantage of two defensive turnovers, failing to score after Warren Sapp caused and recovered a Grbac fumble at the Chiefs 21, and settling for just three points after a Derrick Brooks fumble recovery at the Kansas City 13.

Green continued his emergence as Tampa Bay's best wide receiver, making seven receptions for a career-high 164 yards, including the 52-yard score and a 54-yard catch in the fourth quarter.

Thanks Rob!
