Notes: Kansas City’s initial
American Bowl expedition featured heavy doses of culture, but little offense as
the Rams prevailed by a 19-3 margin. RB
Barry Word made his first appearance in a Kansas
City uniform, pairing with the league’s leading rusher
in 1989, RB Christian Okoye, to form the quintessential “Martyball” backfield. However, the Chiefs’ only points would come
on a 19-yard FG by K Bjorn Nittmo.
Kansas City
gave up 7 sacks to the swarming Rams defense, and Chiefs quarterbacks threw 4
interceptions in a very winnable game.
LA RB Gaston Green rushed for 115 yards.
Look for Bill Cowher on the Chiefs sideline and Norv Turner assisting
Rams head coach John Robinson.
Thanks Steven!
