Notes:  The Chiefs score on their opening drive for the first time in the season after forcing a Washington punt.  WR Willie Davis makes it 14-0 on a touchdown pass from QB Steve Bono after a series of post-whistle scuffles with the Washington defense.

The Redskins finally put together a decent drive late in the second quarter, but it stalls on the KC 19 and they settle for a field goal.  Kansas City tacks on a field goal of their own at the end of the quarter for a 17-3 halftime lead.

On Kansas City’s second half opening drive, Bono throws his first interception in 145 pass attempts but the Redskins cannot convert the gift into points and they punt it back to the Chiefs.

The Chiefs get back in the end zone in the fourth quarter on a 40-yard run by FB Kimble Anders.  Washington ended the day with 5 dropped passes and a third-down conversion success rate of 1-13.
