Johnny Depp is one of my favourite actors, and yet I couldn't help yawning and asking when it was going to end. It was the self-imposed demand to give objective comments on the film to my students and colleagues that made me sit through it. God, why did they have to speak from the bottom of their throats? I had to turn the TV up to the maximum volume. I am sure I would not have been able to catch a line without the English subtitles. It is not a ghost thriller! Besides its inaudibility, the pace is inappropriately slow. No vitality is felt. Not a funny scene is seen. The love between the two main characters is told plainly rather than shown effectively. I was not touched at all. Sorry, Johnny, I don't like this film!
