Jaime Fernandez as the Phantom

This story is the most realistic, as it shows what happens after long years of performance enhancement drug use. Once a celebrated fighter, the Bat turns to drugs to regain his star status. Sadly, the drugs, which look like mandrake, drive him completely mad while giving him great strength.

Some things don’t make sense here. Since the Bat is a lucha, why is he hiding? A lucha always wears his mask in the ring, so his deformity would be hidden. It might be that he isn’t the fighter he thinks he is. Although strong and aggressive, he is reduced to living in a bat shrine to himself.

This Phantom does kidnap ladies, but seems more interested in turning them into mandrake junkies than anything else. He also wants to fight the Blue Demon, which proves his undoing. A rather odd but entertaining movie.
