PHANTOM TOYS

What would childhood be without toys? The following items are just a sampling of the kid-geared items out there for younger Phantom fans. All items in this category are recommended on the item packaging for ages 3 and up.

Phantom of the Opera Playset Macfarlne. This playset consists of a snap together stage, organ, box five, and hanging chandelier. The two included figures of the Phantom and his unnamed assailant both have swords and snap on masks. The chandelier can actually be dropped from where it hangs, making for hours of fun, at least for those favoring the Phantom. The details such as actual chain on the chandelier, real material for the Phantom’s cape and the box five curtains, and the richly complex detailing and finishes are surprisingly good for an item manufactured as a playset and suggest an older target audience.

Phantom of the Opera Figure Created as part of a legion of rubber monster figures for the Monster in my Pocket toy tie-in, these figures came in assorted colors as shown. The detailing isn’t excellent, but at least the one-piece construction can handle rough treatment.

Little Big Heads: The Phantom of the Opera Sideshow Inc. 1998. The glow in the dark figure is modeled after the Chaney version of the Phantom and features a movable head. There is also a Universal Studios copyright of 1998 stamped on the bottom.

Little Big Heads: Phantom of the Opera Sideshow Toy, 1998. This figure is modeled after the full-color version of the unmasked Phantom. Like the others in the series his head is movable.

Little Big Heads: The Phantom of the Opera Sideshow Toy, 2000. The Red Death figure is a Chaney look alike, and has a movable head and copyright of 2000 Universal Studios.

Kubrick Phantom As Japanese mini figures go, this Phantom is nicely detailed. Based on the Lon Chaney Phantom he even switches from masked to unmasked. This Phantom comes from the Universal Series two subgroup of the Kubrick line owned by Medicomtoy. The figures come in unsorted boxes and the buyer has a one in six chance of finding a Phantom.The copyright hologram on the bottom of the box is 2003 Medicomtoy.
