Why Show Up?
The world of professional wrestling has its ups and downs from Time to time. Sometimes its very interesting, while at other times it just catches your attention slightly.. but others its just downright uninteresting. Wrestling fans and the actual wrestlers pay attention to the prooduct and know if its in good shape or bad shape. For those who get paid to entertain the fans each week, having no interest in their company can ultimately result in many problems.

What if a wrestler has been doing well as of late, or even for quite some time, but is never rewarded with any kind of a push? If you were to stay on track continuously week after week and yet all you got in return for your actions were the same old bookings, nothing special, wouldn't you be angry? Now I'm not saying that just because Wrestler A shows a big improvement that he/she should be pushed to the top right away.. that's far from what I'm saying. That could result in problems as well but if Wrestler A was gradually pushed that would be appreciated and deserved by them. The Bottom line is that if someone has done well and deserves some kind of credit for it, give it to them!!

But, on the other hand, what if its the complete opposite? While wrestlers B, C, D have done great lately, but Wrestler A seems to no show and not care much about the fed, then that isn't good. Wrestler A could have a good reason for slacking off. One could be a problem of theirs, something personal.. and another may be a problem with the fed, they may be unhappy with the product. Regardless, Wrestler A doesn't show up for his/her matches so he/she shouldn't be rewarded, but rather punished in ways. Maybe you don't give them title shots as others get or maybe they stay at the bottom of the card until they show improvement, each fed head is different and their decisions will differ as well.

Thing is, if the fed isn't going well, can you really blame the wrestlers who slack off? Yes, and no. Are there no promos being cut? no matches that are fun to watch? That may be the fault of the members and with others not participating as they should, it only makes the problem worse. But what if the whole roster is this way? Do you say "Screw it" and close the entire fed down, or do you try to work with what you have, pushing irresponsible talent that could ultimately result in more work for you that isn't easy? It could be your ownership that's causing the bad situation though, and you need to do what you can to improve and change that.

Feds will always face problems of some sort in their time running, but the good ones will overcome the problems. Thing is, not all feds are good, infact, many are the same but in different ways. No fed is perfect, but some can damn well be close to it. Tthe members and the staff have to work equally to make that happen. But if a fed is no good, Why Show Up? I'll tell you why- because you alone showing up could keep that fed alive and give the owner enough confidence to keep trying, and keep the fed alive.
