We open in a restaurant where we see the young Detective, Misty Bradford, sitting next to an older woman with graying hair, wrinkled skin, and a cigarrette in her mouth. This person is Misty's mother. She's here visiting for the Holiday Season a bit early, but nonetheless, Misty is happy to see her. They were always very close.
Misty Bradford: So Mom, how have you been?
Mom: Oh dear I've been absolutely great. Ever since we got that back payment on our farm, things have been great. How about you?
Misty: Wow, glad to hear that. I'm stayin' busy, as usual.
Mom: You always did work yourself too hard.
Misty: Well, actually I was just ordered to take vacation, not too sure why, but then again, our boss is kind of peculiar. Myself and my partner, Matt Stevens, have been working on a case that I think can really do us some good. We're going after this guy named Adam Payne, he was put in jail for murder, but then was mysteriously let off thanks to the Lieutenant, when out of nowhere there was evidence found that said he wasn't the killer.. someone else was.
Mom: Oh, really? Sounds interesting.
Misty: Sounds out of the ordinary, though. Matt and I have been trying to pin something on Payne, to possible make the truth come out that he is in fact the killer he was first seen as.
Mom: Oh dear, what a job you have there hun.
Misty's mother smiles and puts her shaking hand on Misty's. She smiles back.
Mom: Hold on darlin', I'll be right back, have to use the little girls room.
The mother smiles and stands up. Misty sits there thinking to herself about her mother and the case, both at the same time. She just can't get the case out of her head, and her mother being here just makes everything else better, but at the same time puts more thoughts into her head. Confusing? Well, try being Misty Bradford. The waitress walks up and puts their Salad's down on the table. Misty thanks her, and the waitress moves on to her next assignment.
We then head to the Woman's Restroom. Misty's mother is washing her hands. She adds a little more soap and water. Then, beside her walks a short woman, with short blonde and brown hair. She looks to be dressed up, unusual for her young age, but regardless, this IS a high class restaurant. They begin to talk about their reasons for being here. The woman seems delighted that Misty's mother has come all this way from Illinois to see her daughter. The young lady tells the Mother that she is here with her boyfriend having a romantic dinner, in fact, their first real date. They both exit the Restroom, and walk back to their respected tables. The mother sits down with her daughter. The young lady is then followed by the camera, and she sits down, across from yet another familiar face, this time, a male. He is very large, about 6'10" when he stands up to pull her chair out for her. He has blonde hair. These two people are none other than Ash.. and her .. boyfriend? Adam Payne. The scene fades to black.
