Adam Payne: So when are we gonna hit the road?
PKA: Sometime today, not too long from now. Chill man we just had lunch a half hour ago, shits got to settle!
Ash: I never thought I'd be able to eat again after what happened to me yesterday..
PKA: That was fucked up though, I'm sorry you had to go through that beating..
Ash had gotten put through a table, she was bleeding from the mouth, very much so. She was hurt bad, but thankfully she is now okay after a night at the hospital with PKA by her side. She still has a few scars from the assault, but they'll disapear eventually. You can tell PKA isn't happy about this at all by the look on his face.
PKA: Don't worry, I got a match with them coming up on Thursday, but let's not worry about that now, me and Adam have a Tag Team Title shot at Malice!
Adam Payne: That's right man, soon enough I'll have gold around my waist.
PKA: Hell man, after Malice not only will I be a Tag Team Champion of the NWO but I will also still be the International Champ!
Ash: That title isn't yours.
PKA: Not mine?
Adam Payne: Technically, it isn't.. you stole it from Netlink Tours-
PKA: Yeah so what? I defended it all the times I had to.. I held this title for almost three months without losing it, then I get ran down by a fuckin' Dodge Ram and have to vacate it because I can't wrestle. Nobody else held it so its still mine.
Ash: Well that's nothing to worry about it isn't on the line this week.
Adam Payne: Last week I told everyone in my match I'd kick their asses and beat the living shit out of them and BAM I did just that. PKA, we're gonna be running the NWO soon enough.. with us becoming the Tag Team Champions on Malice, you eventually being the official International Champion, then I'm gonna beat Enforcer at the Pay Per View for the Brutality Title.. and THEN on October 25th we got a Tag Team Title shot against the Madstreet Boyz in WCCW and you know we'll win that one!
PKA: That's right because they've never beat us and we've beaten them a total of two times, and this next Breakdown will be three. But our opponents for the NWO Tag Titles are Christian Wright and Weltmeister.
Adam Payne: I heard about that and was confused-
PKA: That's not very uncommon though.. what's your point?
Ash snickers.
Adam Payne: You think you're funny? I don't. I was saying that because they-
PKA: Yeah I know they hate each other- I knew that. Infact Christian in the NWO Champion and Weltmeister is pissed about it.. its all known facts that nobody cares about really. How in the hell will they survive as a team against us? We are undefeated as a Tag Team in the NWO and with our track record, those two punks will feel the fate that Ichabod wanted them to have..which is collapsing completely and not even being able to cooperate.. they'll lose and we'll be the Tag Team Champions baby!
Ash: Huh?
PKA: Oh, no I wasn't talking.. nevermind. Why are they getting a Title match anyways? What've they done?
Adam Payne: Christian is the NWO Champ..
Ash: They hate each other.. Ichabod probably thought that'd make good television.
PKA: Well its a waist of time. We could've done better things this week instead of going up against non-deserving Grade A wannabe's like Christian Wright and Weltmeister. We should just be handed the belts and get on with it, onto better things like it should be!
Adam Payne: I agree.. it'd sure as hell make it better on our opponents but its what we gotta do.. they're just two more victims that'll be assaulted just like everyone else has been.
We switch scenes as we see Matt Stevens and Misty Bradford sitting down to lunch.
Detective Matt Stevens: So why do you think its a good thing that the boss has made us take vacation time?
Detective Misty Bradford: Well let me tell you this - he's obviously got something to hide. Did you see the way he acted? He was so damn nervous its pitiful Matt. The guy is a nervous wreck and I want to find out why.
Detective Matt Stevens: So how will us being away from him on vacation help that?
Detective Misty Bradford: No, I think I have an idea.. it lies in that man Adam Payne. There's something about him, something that's connected to the boss, I just can't pinpoint exactly what that is! But I will.. we will.. soon.
Detective Matt Stevens: And do you plan on telling me exactly how we are gonna do this or what?
Detective Misty Bradford: Hold on damnit, I'm getting there. See, we need to start looking out, keeping our eyes peeled, watching the boss's every move as well as that Payne fella's.
Detective Matt Stevens: And how do you figure we can do that? We're only two Detectives without any access to the station for a few weeks.
Detective Misty Bradford: Damnit, why do you ask so many questions?
Detective Matt Stevens: I'm just saying..
Detective Misty Bradford: Look! Do you want that promotion or not?
Detective Matt Stevens: Of course I do, why?
Detective Misty Bradford: Well then trust me, this is what'll get you the promotion either way.. whether we nail Payne or the Boss.. we're both going places. Count on it. Are you in?
Detective Matt Stevens: ..Count me in, I'm well overdue for that raise.
Misty smiles and extends her hand. They shake.
Detective Misty Bradford: Great. Just great.
