Welcome to
Roundhead Kennels. We are a small kennel located on the outskirts of Kansas City, Kansas. We only breed Old Boston Bulldogs and have limited breedings.
Our dogs come from the top bloodlines in the country and are bred to the standards listed by the IOEBA. Our goal is the preservation of the Old Boston Bulldog. We breed our dogs for their workability, athleticism, and tenacity. We are not interested in creating a “new” breed, but rather preserving what has already been accomplished.
We work our dogs several times a week. This does not mean we merely let them out of their kennel and watch as they run around and jump over lawn ornaments. We work them in weight pulling, sprint work, treadmill, spring pole, obedience, and flirt pole. We do different activities different times of the year, but our dogs are worked. This gives us a great idea of what kind of dogs they really are. They are not athletic because they run around and jump over lawn ornaments, but because they are tested and found to be athletes. That is important. I will not keep a dog that does not have a good motor or will not work. I believe this mentality is what makes
Roundhead Kennels unique and OUR dogs extraordinary.
Old Boston Bulldogs offer all of those things that you love about bulldogs, but in a smaller, dryer (no slobber), healthier package. They are free welpers and breeders. My wife thinks they are the perfect inside dogs. They are well mannered and do not pester you for attention. They love to play, but are also content for the occasional pat on the head and a warm bed! They do not bark insatiably, but will bark when provoked. You can always trust there is something wrong when you hear them.
