Greek Tortoise - Testudo graeca

This tortoise has a domed and rounded carapace that can reach up to 30 cm. It ranges from southern Spain, Africa to Israel and Syria, and from Greece to Russia and Iran. There are four subspecies described. The three specimens pictured below may be examples of two different subspecies, however, they died in captivity, probably in the pet trade.
