Scorpion Mud Turtle - Kinosternon scorpioides

This mud turtle can reach 27 cm in length. This species is variable and six subspecies are recognized. The scorpion mud turtle ranges in Central America and South America from southern Mexico down to northern Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. This specimen died in captivity.
