Personal Information:

Favorite Food: “Deep Dish Pizza. Still trying to find one outside of Chicago that’s actually worth a damn.”

Favorite Band: “Iron Maiden. But it’d have to be the Bruce Dickenson version, not that weak ass Blaze Bayley stuff. Don’t get me wrong, Blaze is okay, but he just doesn’t fit with the tradition of Maiden to me.”

Favorite Song: “Couldn’t pick. It might not even be by Maiden.”

Favorite Movie: I dig movies that appeal to an actual intellect rather than base, raw emotion and rely on shock more so than psychology to scare. It doesn’t even have to be something I agree with, as long as it makes me think about things.”

Favorite Color: “Red.”

Favorite move: “Wow. That’s a tough one. I’ve always been partial to my Inferno. But if I had to pick something else, it would probably be the suplexes I really started learning a year or two ago. You can just hit them from so many different places and they can cause so much damage. You gotta love that.”

Favorite Actor: “Edward Norton. Except for “The 25th Hour.” God, that movie sucked.”

Favorite Actress: “When I find one I can stand, I’ll let you know. (chuckles)

Hobbies: “Reading, Watching some older wrestling when I find the time. I’m a big fan of the old school NWA, Ring of Honor and so on. You can always learn something new to add another dimension to your game. In short, wrestling is my hobby.”

History:

The man who would eventually be known as Wildfire was born into this world on the 22nd of July, 1977. Brought up with a rich environment didn’t have the same effect on him that one would expect. Make no mistake, young Scott Jacobs definitely lived a life of privilege. But it certainly didn’t allow him much in the way of an easy life. Sure, he had the finest toys, the finest games and the best private schooling his father, a lawyer, and his mother, a professor of Philosophy at the University of Illinois-Chicago. As you could imagine, this didn’t leave much of a home life for the Jacobs family.

And as you could probably further imagine, it didn’t do wonders for the Jacobs family home life. It’s that they didn’t love Scott. Far from it. They considered him a joy and a blessing on their lives. However, as an only child, he was held to a very high standard, in addition to being treated as well as any normal only-child scenario would account for, if not better.

This standard really began to illustrate itself in High School, as both Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs recognized the level of competition amongst students for slots in the nations top universities. From his freshman year of high school, as Wildfire will tell you, he heard it constantly. For every B+ he brought home, it was “why wasn’t it an A-,” and so on and so forth. Don’t misunderstand. His family loved him dearly, but they wanted so much for him that they couldn’t be satisfied with what he had done, and were always striving for better. The day he was accepted into Northern Illinois on a prestigious (though not top) academic scholarship, they wondered why he hadn’t gotten into the University of Illinois, and having debunked that himself, they countered with why he hadn’t won the top prize. This truly was a recurring pattern, and one that would play a pivotal role, as you can imagine.

Upon arriving at NIU, he walked on with the football team, and standing 6’4” and weighing in at around 260 pounds, give or take, he was given a chance at defensive end, where he found himself at second string for the duration of his career, which, admittedly was not long. You see, even though he loved the college experience, even though he loved his chosen field of study—Psychology—he was missing something. He dropped out of school, much against his parents wishes obviously, and moved to Chicago. He drifted from job to job, never really finding anything that caught his eye. He was starting to really let go of himself. His physique was slipping, he was barely sleeping, his work ethic was dropping, and his job was likely the only thing falling in between him and alcoholism and depression. But one fateful night, he saw an independent show late on a local network affiliate. Thinking to himself that with any effort he could get back in shape and do this twice as well as these bozos, Scott resolved then and there to dedicate himself to this new craft.

The name “Wildfire” came about from his days at Wrestling School. His training efforts were phenomenal and his enthusiasm was infectious. One instructor said offhandedly that it was spreading like wildfire, and the nickname stuck. It has been the only name Scott Jacobs has ever wrestled under, and has served him through at least a half-dozen different places of employment before he finally arrived in the UWL.

It was there that Wildfire finally made his mark. Aside from a few title reigns here and there, he did little of note in the UWL. Certainly nothing that would leave a lasting impression. But soon, Wildfire joined a group called The Future, where he encountered a man who went by the name of Misery. Misery took Wildfire under his wing and taught him the ways of the business, and the tricks that have made Misery one of the most dominant figures in the sport. Wildfire eventually wrestled control of The Future away from Misery, leading a coup against him, but each man still shared a strong mutual respect and inescapable bond with the other. It was from these seeds that grew Wildfire’s five UWL World Title reigns and various other major accomplishments. Still active there, Wildfire is likely a first-ballot hall of famer who has won numerous awards and honors in his multi-year tenure in the UWL. His first contact with AGW came during the “Sic Semper Tyrannus” issue that arose in mid-late 2002, wherein UWL CEO Chris Beacom was placed back into power, but not after a brief power struggle which saw then UWL Tag Team Champions Wildfire and Misery “defect” to AGW’s side of the war. It was only after the fact that everyone saw the justification in their actions.

Fast forward not quite two years to his mentor’s involvement with The Horde in AGW. Misery, Tom Tennant and Sean Tylor knew they needed a fourth man to really compete on a more level playing field with the New Blood, and at Misery’s call to his former pupil, Wildfire had finally debuted in AGW, in his former hometown of Chicago, IL in a WarGames match. The rest, as they say, is history.
