As of February 7, 2003:
I was born on January 30, 2002, in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
I'm not walking yet, but give me about two more weeks and look out!
I have seven teeth already, with more right around the corner.
I am quite possibly the happiest and best baby alive (at least according to my
parents).
One of these days, I plan on adjusting to the 12 hour time difference between my
new home and my old one, but I think I will continue to torment my parents just
a little bit longer.
My Gotcha Day is January 17, 2003.
My first birthday party was held on February 1, 2003.
I got to see my first hockey game my second night at home. The Scarecrows won
6-2 (or something like that, I slept through the third period).
Peek-a-Boo is absolutely the best game ever invented!
As of February 14, 2003:
I really love my Baby Einstein videos. Dad said I could not watch the Baby Mozart movie anymore though. He said I've watched it too many times and have turned into the pianist kid he ever saw. Mom said he wasn't funny.
I go to St. Louis this weekend - my first road trip! We are going to a St. Louis Blues game (it's not the Avs or the Crows, but it will do), the zoo and then to some lady Dad calls the doctor. Sounds like fun, we'll see.
I am getting really brave about walking. I will pull myself up and then take about 5 or 6 steps toward whatever I want. Not long now!
A couple nights ago I slept for 11 hours without waking my parents up. I really could do that every night, but it is so much more fun seeing Mom and Dad's faces at 5:00 in the morning.
I got my Green Card in the mail the other day. Dad said they can't deport me now, even if I won't take my naps. It wasn't green, but it was still kind of cool.
Dad has been busy updating my site, so be sure to check everything out.
As of February 21, 2003:
Still at 7 teeth, but it looks like at least one more is about to pop through.
I have pretty much started to walk. I'm not perfect at it yet, but I did about 10 steps without falling earlier today.
My first road trip was to St. Louis this last weekend. Read about it here.
I went two nights with at least 10 hours sleep in a row, so last night I got Dad up from 3:15 to 4:15. You have to keep them parents on their toes.
I am up to 21 pounds. My height and weight are pretty much right in the middle of the charts. Dr. Ladage was very happy with my progress.
I've started on more table food. Mac & Cheese is pretty good, but I prefer baked potatoes right now.
I have mastered the art of drinking from a straw. Mom and Dad think they are going to get me off of a bottle before long, but I have other plans.
As of March 10, 2003:
Tooth number eight has made an appearance.
I am officially a walker.
I have learned to give five, clap my hands, wave bye-bye and hold my hands up in the air when my food is "all gone."
I can say "boo" when playing peek-a-boo and "da da" about nothing in particular (although Dad thinks it is at him).
My test results are all in and I am healthy as can be.
As of March 30, 2003:
Teeth, teeth and more teeth. I am currently cutting 4 molars and one eye tooth. Once they finish coming in, that will put me at 13!
I can pick up a toy while standing up and not even fall down.
I learned to say "mamma" and something that sounds like "juice" and "dog" (and I am actually pointing at my juice and my dogs).
My cousin Christian and his mom and grandparents came to visit me this weekend. We had a blast and I can't wait to see them again.
I love books. I have just about every toy in the world right now, but nothing is as much fun as reading my books.
As of May 29, 2003:
Look, Dad finally updated my page!
13 teeth and counting. I sure wish these last three would hurry up (so do mom and dad).
I am running all over the place and getting into everything (isn't that what I'm supposed to do?)
I know where my feet are and I almost have putting my shoes on figured out (although tying them will probably take a while longer)
I've been going to a babysitters for about 2 months now. Vicki is really nice and I love playing with the other kids.
I get to go to Colorado three times this summer, so dad should have some really cool pictures to put up.
As of June 8, 2003
Dad bought me a set of golf clubs - something about investing in his retirement fund?
14 down, two to go on the teeth.
I got bored with just walking - so I started doing it backward too.
I've started feeding myself with a spoon. Kind of messy - but a lot of fun!
I know about 50 different words. Mom and Dad have only figured out about three of them so far.
I learned how to click my tongue and makes lots of noises with it - helps pass the time at Lowes.
As of July 8, 2003
Fireworks are pretty cool - except for the loud ones!
I got to be an honorary ring bearer at my Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Jason's wedding. I actually made it all the way down the aisle (with a little help from Grandpa).
Mom and Dad are starting to learn more of my words all the time.
I have mastered my Legos.
Dad got higher speed internet at home, so he is planning on putting a few more videos up soon.
As of August 13, 2003
I had my 18 month checkup. Everything went great - except for the shot at the end. I'm up to the 90% in height and closer to 50% in weight.
I survived all three trips to Colorado this summer. Be sure to check out the pictures!
I went to my first Rockies game. Second row seats - and it started raining after just one inning. I got to spend the next 2 hours running wild in the owner's box, which helped pass the time.
I have all of my teeth - FINALLY!
I'm learning new words all the time - shoe, dog, ball, etc. I figured mom and dad were never going to learn my language, so I better learn theirs.
Did you know that they put these little switch things on the walls that will turn on and off the lights in the ceilings?
I have learned to eat with a fork and a spoon. Just try and help me with them!
I'm about to get those pesky doorknobs worked out - then mom and dad are really in for it.
Dad had to take the videos down (something about being too cheap to pay for extra bandwidth so the site would not keep getting shut down).
As of November 1, 2003
I'm starting to repeat a lot of words, some of which Mom and Dad probably wish I wouldn't.
I got to fly to Atlanta for a reunion by my adoption agency. I got to see the Director of my old baby house and the lady that helped interpret for Mom and Dad while they were in Kazakhstan. I also got to meet some of the people that helped me and my parents get hooked up. But best of all, I met a new friend Jack from New York and got to spend a day with my cousin Christian.
Halloween was last night and I went as a lion. I think Mom is stealing my candy because that bucket just keeps getting lower and lower.
If you push my belly button, it goes "Ding-dong". If I push my belly button, it goes "Dong-dong". Just ask all the people who were at Sam's Club the other day, I showed them non-stop the whole time we were there.
Christmas is coming up before long. I've been trying to be good like Mom and Dad said. I'm not really sure why yet, but something about some guy named Santa.
The terrible twos are in full swing. I figured, this is the last time I am actually expected to act this way, so I might as well take advantage of it.
Hey, that Christmas thing I was talking about last time turned out pretty good. I got to go to Lamar and spend Christmas with my grandparents and some of my aunts and uncles. I think I understand how it works now, you act like you are good all year (yeah right!) and then you get to open lots of cool presents. I hope they do this every year!
Mom and Dad helped me celebrate my first Gotcha Day by buying me the Disney Company. Ok, maybe it was just one share of Disney Stock, but give me time, I'll own that place one day. If you are looking for a neat gift for someone, check out oneshare.com.
I had my two year check-up and everything is going great. I am over 3 feet tall and weigh 29 pounds. Hard to believe I was not even walking a year ago.
My two year molars have poked through the skin. Mom and Dad promised those are the last teeth for a while.
I got to play in my first snow the other day. We have about 12 inches or so on the ground right now, so I helped Dad shovel the driveway and sidewalk.
Blues Clues is the best show ever. EVER!
I'm using more and more two and three word phrases now, and know more single words than you could ever count.
Oranges are to food what Blues Clues is to television. Simply the best!
Look, Pappa finally updated my web page! Thanks for all of you that kept bugging him about it!
In case you have not heard, I'm ready for a new brother or sister, and apparently so are my parents. So, if you know anyone who is looking to place a child for adoption, please let my parents know by clicking here.
I love to just talk and talk and talk now. I can repeat just about anything I hear, which is not always a good thing. Although I beginning to figure out that using "No!" too often gets me in trouble. (So does pulling Jordan's hair)
I'm learning to use the potty! I don't make it all the time, but I get there often enough to make my parents happy.
I'm pretty sure pizza is the best food ever invented now.
I am getting a big boy bed in a couple of weeks. Mom and Dad actually think I'm going to sleep in it. Yeah right!
I can count to at least five, and sometimes even higher. Although I still think it goes "One, Two, One, Three. . . "
We are getting a new hockey team this year, so I don't have to drive all the way to Wichita to watch a game. I can't wait!
Got that big boy bed. Not quite as cool as my parents' bed, but it works most nights.
I went to see Santa the other day. I told him I want a Thomas Table, and a Thomas Table, and a Thomas Table. Then I got a cookie.
I have my own seat at the hockey games. Man, watching hockey is almost better than watching Thomas videos.
I went trick-or-treating with Conner and Mikaela this year. They showed me the ropes, and we loaded up on the candy.
Be sure to check out all the updated pictures. There are some in the Trips area, some in the Halloween Pictures area, and some on the Misc. Pictures 2 page.
Dad broke his ankle. We were talking about it and I said "I'll go get some batteries and fix it, okay?" Dad said that was a lot better idea than the doctors had.
I got a new cousin!!! Christian talked his parents into getting a little sister for him. Her name is Ashlyn Grace (although Dad is not real sure how to spell it).
