Nick paced back and forth in his room when he finally couldn’t stand it. He called Leighanne
“Helllloooo!” Leighanne sang.
“Leigh!” Nick cried out
“Yes…?”
“I…called Rachel,”
“And…?”
“She forgave me,”
“That’s fantastic! Now we can double date!” Leighanne squealed
“Uh…no. I asked her out and she said no…I also sent her a dozen roses,”
“Nick you sweetie! That’s so nice!”
“She’s your best friend Leigh…does she like guys like me?”
“Anyone would like a guy like you!” Leighanne said happily
“Thanks,”
“Nick!” Leighanne suddenly shouted
“What?”
“YOU have a THING for Rachel?” Leighanne cried.
“Uh…” Nick coughed and didn’t speak
“AHHH!! You like Rachel! I knew it!”
“She doesn’t seem to like me though,”
“Hmmm…” Leighanne paused
“Oh well…I’ll talk to you later Leigh,”
“Bye Nick,”
“Bye,”
Leighanne hung up the phone some what upset. Once Rachel made up her mind, she sticks with her decisions.
Nick walked up and rang the doorbell.
I ran to answer the doorbell. “Nick!” I said astonished.
“Hi,” Nick said softly.
“Uh…I got your roses. Thanks…but you didn’t have to. Really,”
“That’s ok…I wanted to,” Nick ran his hand through his hair and coughed. He really was kinda cute. I missed Danny.
After a long pause Nick finally blurted out “Rachel I’m really sorry for what I said the other day at the restaurant,”
I sat down next to him on the couch “Nick…it’s ok…”
I placed my hand on Nick’s hand. Nick grew weak
“Nick…one more thing…no more roses…it’s really ok…” I said. Nick eyed my wastebasket. I gasped. I had thrown the roses in there
“I guess you don’t like roses,” Nick mumbled and left my house quickly
“Nick! No…it’s not like that,”
“Rachel…I get it now. You don’t like me,”
I didn’t say anything. He was right, I had no feelings towards him.
“Bye,” Nick mumbled and drove away.
I felt really really bad now.
