Leslie Giammanco

"Compelling strength and vocal dexterity" have made Leslie Giammanco a versatile singer in the realms of concert, opera, musical theatre and cabaret. Noted for her strong dramatic as well as musical interpretations of her characters, Ms. Giammanco has currently been performing seven different roles in the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, a position she held for two years on the Phantom National Tour. Her debut CD entitled "Let My Song Fill Your Heart" (Original Cast Records) celebrates Broadway's lesser known showtunes from past and present. Regionally, she appeared at Amato Opera in New York, singing the role of "Mimi" in La Boheme, "Maddalena" in Andrea Chenier, "Santuzza" in Cavalleria Rusticana and "Silvia" in the Mascagni opera Zanetto. She has starred as "Lucy" in Gian Carlo Menotti's comic opera The Telephone (New Jersey State Opera), "Fiordiligi" in Cosi Fan Tutte (Opera St. Paul), "the Widow" in Argento's The Boor (Midwest Opera Theatre Touring Company), "Mother Abbess" in Suor Angelica (Opera Theatre of Illinois), "Lauretta" in Gianni Schicci (Gotham City Opera), "Hanna Glawari" in The Merry Widow, "Manon" in Massenet's Manon (Minnesota Opera), and "Catherine" in William Mayer's A Death in the Family.
