Janet Murphy
Janet trained at Studio 68 Drama College in London. Her
operatic performances have included Angelina in La Cenerentola and
Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro for English Touring Opera, Major
Lillian Holiday in Happy End, Mauyra in Riders to The Sea and the Sorceress
in Dido and Aeneas for Opera Milton Keynes; Pitti Sing in The Mikado, Suzuki
in Madam Butterfly and third boy in The Magic Flute for Crystal Clear Opera,
Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus for London City Opera in 1999, USA Tour,
Lisinga in Gluck's Le Cinesi for Modern Baroque Opera of Vancouver. She has
sung the alto solos in Hanneger's King David, Handel's Messiah, Haydn's
Harmony Mass, Durufle's Requiem in the UK, and Mendelsonn's Elijah in
Budapest. Janet joined the national tour of Phantom in 2000 in the role of
Madame Giry.
