Lesley was born in England but her studies were in the United States. She started at the University of Southern California and went on to the Boston Music Conservatory. Positions in the Chautauha Opera, the Dayton Opera, and the Michigan Opera followed. There, among other things, she performed as Sophie and then Hansel in "Hansel and Gretel" and as Mercedes in "Carmen." She also has experience in the world of musicals having performed as Madame Giry in the London production of Phantom of the Opera, which she reprised in the Hamburg production.
