Chapter One
“We’re finally going to a concert! I can’t believe this!” I screamed in my best friend’s ear, with MMMBop blasting as loud as it could go in our car.
“Well, believe it, we’re here!” my mom yelled as she started to turn the music off. Fans were EVERYWHERE! The noise was CRAZY!
We pushed people off as we tried to get out of our car. We stepped out into the madness & sunk into the screaming crowd.
“This is SO COOL!” my best friend, Kelli, yelled as we ran into the venue. We finally got inside and the guards wrestled with trying to close the door back.
This was very weird for us. Hanson had a contest where they would randomly pick 2 MOE members to meet and we got picked! They even called us!
We slowly walked to the front where they were having a sound check. They noticed us as we walked up the steps, and stopped what they were doing. The music slowly dropped to a fade out.
“This is gonna rock!” I whispered out loud to Kelli as I watched Hanson come over.
Chapter Two
They shook our hands and asks if we could play a little song with them. They knew I played drums and Kelli the keyboards from our phone conversation.
“Sure, let’s boogie!” Kelli exclaimed. We all laughed. I ran over to the drums and Zac followed, trying to situate the mic around his head.
Kelli moved over to the keyboards and warmed up as Tay stood in front of the congas and Ike switched guitars.
“I can move these around easily if you can’t play ‘em on this side.” Zac looked at me with his eyebrows up.
“Um, actually, I’ve playing the left-handed way, but I can’t do it good. Here, I’ll help you move them.” I answered him back. Tay came over and helped us switch the sides around and went back to the congas.
Everything was silent except Kelli’s warm ups on the keyboard.She noticed the quietness and stopped. She looked over to Taylor like ‘oh, I’m finished’ and gave a small giggle. We all smiled, then Ike spoke up,
“What song can we play?”
“Um, let’s do Where’s The Love or something.” Taylor offered. We all agreed. Kelli and I were fond of Where’s The Love since we had just recently worked on perfecting it.
Kelli and Ike kicked it off and the song soon came to an end. Kelli and I had added ALOT of cool parts in it that we made up ourselves. Hanson seemed to like out styles.
Chapter Three
“Wow!” Zac said smiling as he came over to shake my hand.
“That was really good you guys.” Ike announced.
“Yeah, that was awesome. You two should consider starting a band!” Taylor added.
They took us backstage to the concessions area. There was candy everywhere that they weren’t aloud to eat until after the concert. A table of veggies and other food was neatly laid out in front of us.
“So,” Ike said while crunching on a piece of celery. “how long have you guys been playing your instruments?”
“Oh, about 5 years.” I answered.
“Or somewhere around there.” Kelli pin-pointed.
“Wow!” Taylor thought for a minute, “That’s about how long we’ve been playing OUR instruments, right?” he frowned, looking at Ike.
“Uh, yeah, 4 or 5.” Ike said, taking a bite of some broccoli. Hanson’s dad suddenly walked in,
“You guys are on in about 10 minutes. Oh, are these the MOE members, Nikki and Kelli?”
“Yeah, we just got finished playing Where’s The Love with them.” Ike explained as Walker came over to shake our hands.
“Really? Wow.” Walker mused.
“Yeah, their really good!” Zac piped. “They added alot of cool parts in there.
“Nice meeting you!” Kelli and I said simultaneously.
“Yes, nice meeting you two also.” he walked toward the
hallway. “Have fun out there!”
“Oh, we will dad.” Taylor smiled.
Chapter Four
They led us to the stage door and we peered out.
“Whoa!” Zac and I said at the same time.
“There are alot of people out there!” Zac kept staring, amazed.
“You’re not kidding!” Taylor yelled over the screams.
“Oh geez.” Ike said while pushing his way through us and closing the door. He slowly turned around. “Okay, these are your seats. Hope you have a great time. We’ll see you after the show!” Ike enthused while handing us our tickets.
“Yeah, and you can’t forget these!” Zac handed us our
backstage passes as we ran out the door.
We took our front row seats just as the certain came down. This was it... it was all over!
Chapter Five
The concert TOTALLY ROCKED! Afterwards we had to practically run for our lives just to get to the door that led backstage. It was total chaos!
We rushed to the door and opened it, running in and slamming the door behind us. We were panting like puppies as we locked the door. To our surprise, Walker was there waiting for us.
“The guys are in the back signing autographs and taking
pictures with the other MOE members.” he said, guiding us to the back. He led us into a room with a TV & a small rectangular table sandwiched between a couch and 2 chairs. On the table was a laptop surrounded by TONS of UN-opened snack food and Dr. Pepper.
“This is where they come and rest after the show and
everything.” Walker walked us inside and we sat on the couch. “They’ll be here after their done. Help yourself to anything. They should be back here soon.” he smiled and walked toward the door as we thanked him.
As we sat and waited, we talked about how cool it would be if we really got to know them like old friends. Suddenly, they all 3 came in.
“Whooo!” Zac sighed as he stumbled inside. They noticed we were in there too as we got up from the couch.
“Oh, hi! We forgot you were coming in here.” Taylor looked up. Kelli and I sat down in the chairs at the other side of the table as Ike and Tay sat on the couch. Zac turned on the laptop and went to take his spot on the couch.
“Ahhh...” Zac breathed, flopping down on the couch. He
grabbed a Dr. Pepper bottle and quickly gulp half of it down.
Chapter Six
There was a knock at the door. Taylor got up and opened it to see their dad.
“Sorry to bother you guys, but another group of MOE members are waiting to meet you in the other room.”
“Ok dad. Come on guys.” Taylor motioned his arm. Ike got up and told us as he was walking to the door,
“You guys can eat some of that candy if you want it.” he said, pointing to it.
“Yeah, have a D.P. too!” Taylor added after walking out the door.
“Here, will you check our email?” Zac came over to me,
handing me the laptop.
“Uh, sure!” I took it from his hands.
“Thanks!” Zac smiled and ran out the door, closing it behind him.
Kelli and I just looked at each other like ‘no way’. I slowly moved the cursor over and double-clicked on the envelope icon. This was too cool!
Chapter Seven
There were three new messages, all from fans. By the time we
had read the last one, Zac came back in.
“Did we get any knew messages?” Zac asked, out of breath.
“Yep! Three!” I answered.
“What’d they say?” Zac rushed.
“Uh, they're all questions: 1. did you guys enjoy Star Wars?, 2. do you like the show I Love Lucy?, and what does MMMBop mean?” I read them off, frowning at the last one. “No offense, but how retarded!”
“Yeah, I know. But we have to check our email every chance we get so we won’t get flooded.” Zac laughed “Well... the answers are: definitely, yes, and whatever you want it to mean.” he ran back out the door hurriedly.
We logged off the internet and closed the laptop, then sat it back on the table
*IN THE OTHER ROOM*
"Okay, everybody, last picture. Come on over." Taylor announced to the last group of fans. ::snap:: Hanson left and tiredly walked back down the hallway.
"So, what do you guys think of Nikki and Kelli?" Zac asked Ike and Tay as they walk down the hall slowly, hands in pockets.
"Um, I don't know, we haven't hardly got a chance to talk to them." Taylor starred in front of him.
"Yeah, we haven't got to know them very well at ALL!" Ike frowned. "But they seem nice." he added, smiling.
*BACK IN THE LOUNGE ROOM*
Hanson walked in laughing about something. We looked up as Walker suddenly flew in the door.
"We gotta go!" he pushed Tay and Zac out. Ike came over and grabbed both our arms and led us out the door.
"AHHH! IT'S HANSON!!!" We heard a shrill scream from a girl. Kelli and I looked back, but Ike had a firm grip on our arms. We were pulled to the bus and jumped inside. Right about the time Ike got the door closed and they locked, fans reached the van. Kelli and I just starred in amazement at the fans banging on the windows as if that would make us let them in. The whole van started to shake!
Chapter Eight
"Oh my gosh," Ike said bug-eyed, holding onto the seat. "dad... DRIVE!" We heard the tires screech as we tryed to drive through everyone without running over them. Walker was driving, Taylor was in the passenger seat, Ike and I were in the middle seat, and Zac and Kelli were in the back.
"Are you guys okay?" Taylor asked Kelli and I as he turned around in his seat.
"Yes." we both said simialtaniously. "But I think I have a bald spot on my head now... don't ask." I said while feeling of my throbbing head where a girl had pulled hard on it.
"Seriously, someone pulled your hair?" Zac's voice got higher.
"Yeah, and HARD to!" I replied. We didn't talk anymore until we got to the hotel. We had to run in as fast as we could. Hanson talked with their dad a while and later came over to tell us we were all going to Mr. Gatti's (a pizza place w/games) to eat!
We all excitedly piled into the van and drove off. The ride over there was fun. We all joined in for "100 cans of Dr. Pepper" as we neared the resturaunt. We finally arrived and pulled into the front parking lot. As we glided into the parking spot and came to a stop, a TON of fans sawrmed around the van. There was NO way out!
Chapter Nine
I looked over at Zac with a ‘no way’ expression on my face.
“Yes, we need security, quick.” Walker was talking on his cell
phone. The fans were staring at Kelli and I with frowning faces.
Zac shook his head and hopped into the back. Grabbing his
megaphone, he plowed through the sunroof.
“Attention! If you would be so kind as to let us out, we’ll sign
some autographs.” Everybody backed off immediently. Zac
came back down as Tay, Ike, me, & Kelli got out of the van.
One girl pointed at us and asked who we were.
“Oh! They’re the MOE member winners.” Tay said, trying to find
a pen from inside the van. Everyone’s faces turned into smiles
as relaxed “ohhh..” ‘s came from their lips.
“Congratulations!” A girl with brown shoulder length hair and
chocolate brown eyes extended her hand toward Kelli and I.
Zac looked at the girl as we shook her hand. He rushed up to
meet her. His caramel brown eyes met hers; both we’re smiling.
Kelli and I exchanged glances. I looked over at Tay and he was
mouthing “I think he likes her” to us. We laughed as Zac and the
girl snapped out of their trance.
“Do you have the internet?” Zac asked while writing his John
Hancock on a piece of paper.
“Actually, yes. I get on it sometimes.” She answered. Zac smiled.
“Um, what do you want me to put on this?” Zac asked, referring
to the autograph.
“’To Michelle’ is fine.” She looked at the paper as Zac wrote.
She noticed him write more before he handed it to her. It read
‘What’s your email?” Bright-eyed, she wrote it down on the
same paper and tore it off and gave it to him.
After they were through signing autographs, Zac talked to the
girl some, and told her he’d email her. We finally walked into Mr.
Gatti’s, starving! Zac and I got some cheese sticks and sat
down first. Tay came soon after with a huge slice of pepperoni
pizza.
“What’s that?” Tay pointed at a small piece of paper on the
table that Zac had put down.
“Michelle’s email.” Zac gazed; he was in his own world.
“Michelle?” Tay questioned, shaking parmesan cheese onto his
pizza. Zac dropped his cheese stick on his plate and looked at
Tay like ‘where have you been?’.
“Michelle, that girl I met today!” Zac refreshed Tay’s memory.
Tay and I looked at him and then bursted out laughing.
Chapter 10
“What?” Zac was confused.
“Hey, Zac... was she smiling at all when you were talking to
her?” Tay asked, still laughing.
“Yeah, pretty much the whole time.” Zac said, waiting for an
explanation to the sudden fit of laughter.
“You wanna know why?” Tay was laughing so hard he was
crying. Zac looked over at him. “Because there’s a big BUGGER
IN YOUR NOSE!” Tay and I almost fell out of our seats laughing.
“WHAT!?” Zac squeaked and ran to the bathroom, nearly not
Ike’s tray of spaghetti right out of his hands.
“Whoah! Where is Zac going?” Ike sat down at our table. We
couldn’t get it out we were laughing so hard. I felt my face
burning as Kelli sat down. Her and Ike were both trying to get it
out of us. Finally we calmed down as Zac came back to his
seat.
“What’s so funny?” Ike asked looking at us then at Zac. “What,
do I have a bugger hanging out of my nose or something?”
That made Tay and I almost choke! Zac looked over at Ike, you
could tell he wanted to laugh to.
“No, they told ME I had a bugger in my nose, and I thought it
was there when I was talking to a fan I met.” Zac let them know. I knew Tay was gonna play that joke on him because he had told me while we were ordering our food. I could tell by the look on his face he was about to do it. That's why we both laughed at the same time.
“Heh heh!” Kelli laughed.
“You should have seen the look on your face!” Tay finally got
out.
When we finally got over it, it was time to go. We had the whole
rest of the day with Hanson. This was gonna be the best day
ever. We had already got off to and good start! :D
Chapter 11
We arrived at their hotel around 7:00 PM. We were a little worn out, because we laughed
until our faces hurt all the way there. Ike opened the door to our room for us.
“Here you are!” Ike flung open the door.
“Where is your guy’s rooms?” I asked.
“If you go out this door and turn left, it’s the 3 door down on the right.” Tay walked up to
our door.
“Okay. Um, so are we doing anything else today?” Kelli asked.
“We were thinking about watching a movie. Wanna come to our room?” Zac announced.
“Sure!” Kelli and I both agreed. We sat our bags down by our beds and walk to Hanson’s
hotel room with them.
“What movie are we watching?” I asked.
“Um,” Tay thought, “I don’t know. What do you guys wanna watch?”
“How about....” I tried to think of a good movie. We were now sitting on the couch,
deciding on a movie to watch.
“HEY!” Zac exclaimed. We all looked over at him. “We could play N64!”
“Yeah!” We all agreed. Tay popped in Mario Party as we grabbed our controllers. Ike and
Kelli took turns with one controller, since there were only 4 and there was 5 of us.
The night went by quick. We watched a small movie that was on TV while we were sitting
in the floor with our back up against the front of the couch and popcorn bowls rested in
our hands. Zac soon fell asleep with his head on a cushion of the couch. He later fell onto
Tay’s shoulder, drool and all! Tay about spilled the popcorn all over the room just trying
to get him off before it landed on him.
When the movie was over I glanced at the clock on the wall with tired eyes.
I screamed, “OH MY GOSH, IT’S A QUATER ‘TIL MIDNIGHT!”
Chapter 12
Tay woke up from his dose and jerked around to look at the clock with wide eyes.
“No way!” We all looked at the clock, trying to focus. Kelli looked at me weird.
Suddenly, a pillow plowed into my face coming from Zac’s direction.
“The little hand is the hour, the big one’s the minutes!” Zac told me. I glanced at the clock
again and laughed. It wasn’t even 9:00 yet!
