Opposition for 1998

< Division 1 opponents:

Dunvegan :-
First to start the 'oh if you don't have a team/ 15 minutes after kick off time and they're still not here, we're having the points/ we don't care if your granny died/ so what if your bus got ambushed in Crossal' argument, and therefore reduce the sporting behaviour of the other clubs concerning difficulties in raising teams, long distance travel, unforeseen unnatural phenomena and dodgy meat pies in Sutherlands Garage. Apart from playing in the same shirts as Juventus, there the similarity with football ends.

Plockton :-
Looks a nice place - .......but looks are decieving. Plonkton will be a tough coconut to crack this year, but as long as we win against them, we don't mind losing to all the others!

Portree :-
The team to beat this year. They used to live in the shadow of their local rivals and fellow 'Big City W******' for long enough, but they now have the upper hand. This started about 10 years ago when their manager starting giving sweeties to the local young boys in an effort to keep them from Uniteds door. It seems to have worked. Damn.

Sleat/Strath :-
If there is a side that takes their football as serious as this, then I have yet to see them. They hate to lose, and this is what seems strange to me, you'd think they'd be quite immune to it by now. Although if the truth be told, they are the only team outside the north of the area to boast West Highland Select Players. Although Lord knows why, because one of them puts even Ben a' Caillich to shame with his monstrous proportions. (Maybe he eats the opposition, he certainly ate all the pies.) For more information on this team contact their biggest fans, The West Highland Free Press!

United :- For to long the darling boys of Skye romped their

And representing the second division.....

Bernisdale :-

Glenelg :-

Kyleakin :-
Kyleakin play just across the water from us, and in that sense should be our biggest rivals. Not so. Although their is a fair bit of piss taking going on between both clubs, we are on top just now, and they can't stand it. The Kyleakin, or 'Clangers' as we call them, team is made up of a lot of youngsters, and a lot of old boys. Very similar to the Plockton set up, but obviously they're not as skilful. One of the few other teams who take their drinking as seriously as us and Struan. And Kyleakin is great for a good night out.

North End :-

Staffin :-
Don't get me wrong here, Staffin have a good bunch of blokes, but never go back to the Floodigarry Hotel for soup and sandwiches, unless you have a taste for the surreal. We're talkin' back to the sticks, potato eatin', yeah hawin', cousin lovin', cowboys here. It's not much fun being caught between this lot on one side, (The public Bar is about 3 feet in diameter), and all the local residents eating their 3 course Scampi in a Basket meal on the other. Weird stuff, no kidding.

Struan :-
