"I want to thank you Madison.," Nick said once he had carried her out of the pool area, to the elevators, and up to their floor.
"Thank me? For what?"
"Well..for opening Kev up."
"What do you mean?"
"He's been..I dunno, happier. He's almost human. Now, if only we could get him to talk faster and we'd get through interviews quicker.," He said with a grin.
"He does NOT talk slow Nick..you're brain just processes it too slow. And what did I have to do with his big transformation?"
Nick shrugged, the smile still on his face. "I dunno.."
"Nick..what are you thinking??"
"I don't know Madi..why don't you tell me?"
"I don't know what you're talking about.," She said getting up and turning her back to him.
"Mad..can I ask you a question?"
"I guess.."
"Do you like Kev?"
"I don't know Nick..everything's all jumbled and I'm a bundle of nerves right now.."
"Because of Saturday?"
She nodded, "Yeah..and yes, Kevin's going with me, but that doesn't mean anything is going on between us."
"Do you want something to happen between you two?"
She turned back around to see him looking up at her expectantly. She sighed, "Yes and no. Kevin is a great guy, he has everything a girl could ever want in a boyfriend. But then there's that little voice in the back of my head that tells me I can't get involved with him more than personal or friendly because of the position I'm in. The Firm could fire me if they knew I was going out with Kevin."
"So?"
"Nick..this is my life. I don't have anything else to fall back on."
"I doubt they'd fire you Madison. I bet they'd just send you off to manage another artist or something like that. Why don't you just let yourself go? Why not just go for it?"
"I don't know if he feels the same way.."
Nick smiled and stood up, "Madison, I've known the guy for almost 8 years now. I've seen what he's like when he has a crush..and its nothing like the look he gets when he looks at you."
"Really?"
"Really."
She sighed, "I'm glad you told me this Nicky..I really am. But..I want to sort my feelings out first..k?"
He nodded, "I understand completely. Wanna go back down now?"
"Sure.."
They walked to the elevators and got in.
Kevin smiled to himself as he leaned back against the wall. He had wanted to know where Nick and Madison were going so he followed them and hid behind the corner. Now, he knew how he felt about Madison..and now he knew how she felt about him. All Kevin had to do now was convince her, she won't get hurt by him. Hopefully..Saturday would be the day she came to that realization.
