Chapter 23

Friday evening came and Madison and Kevin left on the flight back to Orlando. Madison had been relunctant to go because Nick had caught the flu that had been going around everyone and he had the worst of it. She didn't want to leave him, he was like her little brother. But in between sneezes and coughes, he told her to get out and not come back till Sunday morning.

"Madison, he'll be fine.," Kevin said as he noted the worried look on her face.

She nodded, "I know..Nick just looked so pitiful though."

"I know..but, concentrate on you for now. Have a dress?"

"Nope."

"Why not?"

She shrugged, "I don't know...I just..haven't had time."

"Fine, first thing we do is go shopping."

She groaned, "Keevvviinn..you're supposed to be the date, not the mom figure."

He grinned, "Yeah well, I guess now I'm both."

A few hours later, the plane landed, and once inside the car rented, Kevin drove towards the local mall. "First stop..," He said once inside and once right in front of Lerner's.

"Good..its cheap and I can afford it.."

"Only a dress Madison..not outfits."

She rolled her eyes but smiled, "Yeah right..as soon as Armani Exchange comes into view Mr. Model you'll be all up in there."

"Nope..I'm refraining."

"Do you have a suit?"

"But of course..come on."

She sighed and followed him inside.

Two hours, six stores, a couple of aruguments, and a few shopping bags later, Kevin found the perfect dress. Madison was looking through another rack in the store when he pulled it out. "Mads, this is it."

"What's it?," She said not looking up from the rack in front of her.

" The dress...look..now!"

She looked up and her eyes widened. It was long, had two long slits up the sides, and was Madison's color: a dark blue. "Go..try it on."

She took it and went to the dressing rooms. She pulled off her jeans and shirt and slid the dress over her head. How good was her luck?? It fit perfectly, showed off all the right things. She opened the door and peered out. Kevin looked up from the chair he was sitting in and smiled, "Its looks perfect."

"You sure? I mean, nothing's wrong wit-"

"Madison, it's absolutely perfect.," He said while thinking, 'You look like a Goddess.'

She let a smile cross her face, "You think so?"

"Positively."

"Okay.."

"Come on then girl, we gotta get some sleep sometime tonight."

She nodded and disappeared into the fitting room again.

They got to the hotel they were staying at, only to find out their reservations had been switched. Only one room was left; least it had two beds. 'I'm gonna kill Nick and Brian.,' Kevin thought as they rode up the elevator to the fifth floor.

"Madison, I'm really sorry about this..if its that big of a deal, I can see if they have another room.."

"Its fine Kevin. Really. I mean, least the room has two beds."

He smiled, "Thats true."

They went down the hall to their room and Kevin unlocked the door. They unloaded their stuff and then Kevin went to shower while Madison got ready for bed.

Once inside the bathroom, Kevin took his cell out of his pocket and dialed Brian's cell number. When he picked up, Kevin spoke five very simple words.

"I'm going to kill you."

Brian, and Nick who was in the room, laughed so hard they cried.
