Chapter 9

Madison groaned and tried to block out the incessant knocking on her door. Sensing the person wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, she threw the covers off and trudged to the door. She flung it open, "What?"

Kevin looked startled and smiled sleepily, "Michael told me to come wake you up.."

"What time is it?"

"5:30.."

"Ugh..this better be good.," She said walking down to Michael's room.

She knocked on his door and a second later Michael opened it and Madison walked in. "What is so important that it couldn't of waited three more hours Michael?"

"Okay, you know how Nick's birthday is tomorrow, right?"

"Right.."

"Well, we had the idea to fly his parents and siblings out here so they could be with him when he turns 20."

She nodded, "Okay.."

"Well..me and the guys are going to have to keep him here and occupied, so we figured we'd send you to go pick them up."

Madison nodded sleepily, "Okay..sure, I'll do that."

"Okay, their flight comes in at 6 tonight..here's the airport directions."

She took the papers from him, "K..I'm going back to sleep.."

Madison pulled her hair back and grabbed her purse before walking out and almost running into Nick. "Geez Nick!"

"Sorry..where are you going?"

"I'm umm..going to pick up your surprise Mr. Twenty Year Old."

He grinned, "I can't believe it, I'm 20!"

"Me neither..just the other day you were a little squirt!"

He grinned, "Whatever..so where ya going?"

"Nick, don't even try it. I'll be back by 9, okay?"

"Okay.."

She walked down the hall and said goodbye to the guys and Michael and made her way down to the lobby and her rental car.

She drove out towards the interstate and pulled onto it. It had begun to rain and was getting harder and harder to see through it.

She turned on the radio and flipped through, trying to find a decent station. She looked up in time to see the other car cross the center line. She swerved, but it was too late, the car hit her side and sent her soaring towards the shoulder of the road. She passed the shoulder and down into a deep ravine and her car finally stopped, after hitting a tree.

Kevin glanced at his bedside clock and sighed, it was nearly 8:45 and Madison hadn't called or come back yet. He got up and went to go find Michael. Brian, Howie, and AJ were all in the room with him. He glanced towards Michael, who was on the phone. "Who's he talkin' to?," Kevin asked Brian quietly.

"Nick's mom called him..apparently, Madison isn't there yet.."

"But, their plane landed two hours ago!"

"I know, they're gonna catch a cab.."

"Where's Madison at?"

"I have no clue."

"Guys, I don't have a good feeling about this..," Howie said.

Kevin glanced out the window as lightning flashed outside, "Me neither.."
