Tree Stand Concealment

Hunting in the Woods

Submitted by Jim Strelec, Knight and Hale

One of the biggest mistakes made by bowhunters is their lack of cover around the stand. You need to be able to see deer coming, yet not be seen. Using cut limbs put on your stand can do this. With all the new innovations in the market place, you can find artificial limbs along with camouflage material to use. Height will also be of great help! You need to be at least 16’ up, as not to be in a deer’s natural line of sight. Please, remember a safety strap is to be used at all times. When conditions permit, most experienced hunters I know will always try to get between 20’ to 25’ up with their stands.
