Unknown Dungeon, where is it?

Go to Cerulean City (the town with Misty as the gym leader) with a Pokemon that has the ability to surf. Walk north toward the bridge where you battled it out with 5 trainers and a Team Rocket member. Cross the bridge and surf down the strip of water that is next to the bridge. Continue to make your way down the water, staying close to the left shore. Inside the Unknown Dungeon will be the pokemon Mewtwo. -----------------------------------

FAQ Update

In Cerulean City (Misty's Town), head toward the house that has been robbed and you will see that there is a security guard standing outside. Go inside and come out the back door. Then go right, down, right and you'll find a bush. Cut it down. Normally this path if you take it through will lead to the Rock Tunnel. Instead of going down toward the Rock Tunnel entrance, take a detour up into the little gap between the barrels. Surf the water and you'll reach the Power Plant. Inside you'll find the much useful Zapdos. -----------------------------------

What can I catch with fishing rods?

Fishing and surfing are the only ways to acess wild water Pokemon. With the Old Rod you can only catch Magikarp. The Good rod lets you get better Pokemon like Goldeen. The Super Rod entitles you to great Pokemon like Dratini. Experiment around in different waters!

-----------------------------------

What are TMs, and how many are there?

TM stands for Technical Machine. It teaches a Pokemon a technique when used on a Pokemon. These techniques can be deleted to allow the Pokemon learn other moves. There are 50 Tms in the game. HMs are the same as TMs but there are only 5 and inlike the TMs, the HM moves cannot be deleted. However, if you put an HM technique on a Pokemon and havent saved the game, tuen the game on and off if you decide to take it off.

Who is the best Pokemon to start off with?

Although Charmander and Bulbasaur are good, Squirtle will benefit you more along the way. Bulbasaur is good to start off with, and is best against Brock, but Charmander can also make it through. Your best bet though is Squirtle because of his powerful evolution, Blastoise.

-----------------------------------

I've beaten all of the trainers in the game and I still need money, what do I do? If you still need money after you've defeated all of the trainers then there are two thing you can do. One: Use Meowth or Persian's PayDay move. In battle it attacks the opponent and "scatters coins". If you win the match you get to keep the coins that were "scattered". The more times you use this technique in a match the more money you collect. This technique can be used against wild Pokemon as well as trainers. The second way is to repeatadly defeat the Elite Four and Gary (rival), and get about P25,000 each time. Either way works, but the second way is much quicker and you gain more experience points faster (if you need them). -----------------------------------

Which Pokemon evolve by trading? There are three (3) ways to evolve Pokemon. One is the typical standard evolvement by level. Another way is to use a stone on the Pokemon. The third way is to trade the Pokemon by link cable to a friend. Once traded, the Pokemon will automatically evolve. Evolution may be stopped by tapping the B button while the Pokemon is evolving. The four pokemon that evolve by tading are: Kadabra, Haunter, Machoke, Graveler. -----------------------------------

Can my Pokemon not learn any certain moves if I evolve it too quickly?

Yes, each stage of a Pokemon evolution is capable of learning different techniques as the previous/next...with the exception of Eevee because it evolves into three types of different elemental Pokemon depending upon which stone is given to it. For example: If you were to use your Weepinbell until level 50 or 60 before evolving it into Victreebell with a leaf stone, it might learn a move as Weepinbell that Victreebell can't learn.

-----------------------------------

Where are Charmander, Squrtle, and Bulbasaur?

Sorry guys, you can't catch these 3 exclusive Pokemon wild. The only way to get them is to ask a friend to restart his/her game and trade you their first choice twice...both of which you don't have. -----------------------------------

How do I get the Master Ball?

The master ball assures you a 100% change of catching a Pokemon. There's only one in the game. To get it, you need to go to the Silph Co. Building in Saffron City. If you have enough badges, the guard in front will be sleeping and you'll be able to get in. Once in the HUGE maze find the Card Key by talking to each trainer after you fight and beat them. One of them will drop the Card Key. Pick it up and use it to unlock doors. Follow the proper teleportation devices to get yourself to the boss. Once you beat him you'll get the Silph Scope.
-----------------------------------

How do I get the Hidden Machine (HM) techniques? Cut-
First go to the Sea Cottage which is north in Cerulean City. From the guy there you'll get a cruise ticket. Take that cruise ticket to get aboard the S.S. Anne in Vermillion City. Find the Captain who'll give you the HM for Cut. If you have the Cascade Badge, from Misty in Cerulean City, you'll be able to put it on a plant Pokemon.
Flash-
The flash move is entirley pointless because you only need it to get through the Rock Tunnel to Lavender Town. After you get to Lavender Town you can just fly back to most cities when you get Fly. Flash is also a bad battle move. To get it you need to consult one of Prof. Oak's aides in one of the towns.

Surf-
In the deepest part of the Safari Zone there is a secret house with a man who'll give you the HM for Surf. It's pretty simple to find the house... just try not to go into dead ends.

Strength-
Along the way of getting Surf be sure to find the Gold Teeth (dentures) for the Safari Warden, who will give you the HM for strength. The Gold Teeth are in a Pokeball on the ground like all other items. The Warden is in Fuscia City.

Fly-
Go to Celedon City and keep going west (left) until you get to the toll booth leading into the Bicycle Trail. Before the toll booth there is a bush on the upper part of the path. Cut it down and go into and out of the upper toll booth. Then go into the small house and talk to the girl who'll give you the HM for Fly. Fly can be put on most bird/flying Pokemon. It's an ok attack in battle.
-----------------------------------

Where is Safari Zone?
What do you give to the "thirsty guards"?
I suggest you go to the Lavender Town Pokecenter
first. From there travel down to the south of Lavender town as far as you can until you get to the dock. Keep going and following the dock all the way down and eventually you'll get to Fuscia City. Safari Zone is in Fuscia City.

Along the way you will encounter many guards at toll booths saying you can't get through and that they are thirsty. Go to Celedon City and go find the huge department store. Take five or six flights of stairs to the roof of the store and buy some fresh water from the vending machine. Go to a guard and give him the drink. He'll let you through and so will the other guards. NOTE: You only need to give ONE guard ONE drink and all of the guards will let you pass. -----------------------------------

How do I get the Silph Scope? The Silph Scope is needed to view wild ghost Pokemon in the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. To get it, you need to go to the Game Corner in Celedon City. Talk to the poster behind the team Rocket member and open the secret staircase. Once in the HUGE maze find the Lift Key. Pick it up and use it to take the elevator to the proper floor. Follow the proper steps to get yourself to the boss. Once you beat him you'll get the Silph Scope.
-----------------------------------

Where is the Poke Flute? You need the item called Poke Flute to wake up the sleeping Snorlax (#143) in two different locations. To get it you first need to get the Silph Scope (see above question). Once you have the Silph Scope, travel with it to the Pokemon Tower (graveyard) in Lavender Town. Make your way up to the top of the tower and rescue Mr. Fugi who'll give you the Poke Flute.

Question: Can I get a Mew in the game!!!

Answer:

You cannot get Mew in the game. if you have heard rumors about they got mew in the game or they have gotten him with gameshark,or game genie, Mew wont be the same as the Mew,Nintendo gave to people in febuary,Ive heard that if you WON MEW in febuary its OT/ could be Mario, if you caught a Mew without the OT/MARIO on the pokedex, your mew would probley be more weak than the one Nintendo gave out,he would be stronger and different in some ways.

Answer:

There's most likely a 10% chance of a Pikablu would be in the game, but he will surly be in the Gold and Silver version of Pokemon, Gold and Silver was said to just maybe come out in December 2000 or December 1999 I think.

Question: Can I find a Missingno. in my Pokemon game?

Answer: There's a 101% here of finding MissingNo. in the game. One way to catch him is use the Safari Zone code, the code hwree to get Safari zone pokemon at Seafome island, the other way is talk to an old man that shows you how to use a Poke-ball,talk to him and say No and watch him catch a Weedle then fly to cinnabar island and surf up and down the east/right coast of cinnabar island, you should hit him at level 180 or 80, Im pretty sure he's extremly weak, and DO NOT catch him or even try to find him, one look or if you catch him could most likely earase your game or make the graphics scrambled!
