Jessie, James and Meowth make up the bulk of Team Rocket, while Giovanni heads the organization, and while Yamato and Kosaburo walk in Jessie and James' footprints (even though they are of higher rank!)
Jessie, James and Meowth are a strong team (strong, not exactly bright, but
strong) dedicated to stealing rare and valuable Pokemon. It is not exactly
known what would happen if the three were split up, but as my favorite
philospher once said...
"An independant George, divided upon itself... *cannot* stand!"
Jessie and James met in their bike gang, and later went to Pokemon Tech, where they succeeded in getting the lowest grades for the final in the school's history. They left and joined Team Rocket, and were teamed up with Meowth, who was just expelled from his position with Giovanni.
