Daily Care
Gerbils should feed daily but only what they can eat in a single day.
Give your gerbils things to chew on and keep their teeth short.
Make sure that the cage is escape-proof and safe.
Fresh foods should be removed and replaced each day.
Always counted your gerbils daily to make sure all are there. Also check for signs of illness, injury, or fighting daily.
Weekly Care
The cage should be cleaned out once a week. Click here to learn how.
The water bottle should be changed and if you put any vitamins in their water replace those as well.
Your gerbils should be given a run of the room at least 3 times a week. Click here to learn what to do in preparation. If you can give them a run of the room then you can use a gerbil ball.
Monthly Care
The entire cage and all accessories should be throughly clean out.
Special Care
Gerbils should always be given daily attention and be handled as much as possible to tame and bond with them.
If a gerbil is found sick the cage should always be disinfected.
Toys should always be provided to keep your gerbils both physically and mentally happy and busy.
