Lost in the Sea of Memories…
Chapter 2

The next few days pasted extremely slow for Mylene. Everyday was the same: wake up, eat breakfast, get examined; eat lunch, go for a walk, get examined again; eat dinner, get examined one last time, go to sleep.
Her mom and dad called every day to say hi and to check up on her.
Ray drops in every day to tell her more and more of her past. Even thought Ray tries his best to make her remember her memory still has lots of holes in it.
Basara still sneaks into her room at night and sings to her. The songs were not familiar but they were comforting, and Mylene slowly grew to like his voice. There was something about his voice…that made her feel all-weird inside. Mylene did not understand these feelings. Here was a guy that she's known for a few days. Not to mention they fought on the first day. And she was getting feelings about him?! The thought scared Mylene…
But she started to like it when he came to her room. Once he sang too loud and a nurse came in. He had to hide under her bed. She had a hard time falling asleep after that because she kept giggling.

It was nighttime again. Mylene sat on her bed brushing her long pink hair. Gubaba sat on her lap. "Gubaba…" Mylene started as she stoked her long silky hair.
"Squeak?" Gubaba looked up at her.
She smiled. "It's good that at least I still remember you." She put the brush down besides the bed, and let Gubaba hop onto her shoulder.
	"I'm confused…" Mylene said. "At first, that Basara seemed so mean and unreasonable, and…and…well, now…I think…I actually…want to…remember him…"
"You do?" A voice behind her asked.
Mylene turned around, surprised, to see Basara leaning against the doorway. She felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her, and felt her cheeks go hot. "I was kidding!" She yelled as she chucked her pillow at him.
Basara caught the pillow and walked towards her bed. He sat down on the chair beside her bed and asked, "And what would Miss Jenius like to hear today?"
Mylene thought for a while "How about that nice slow one…" She said.
"Which one?" Basara asked, taking his guitar out of its case.
"I don't remember the title…but I think it goes like this…" Mylene started to hum the tune to 'My Soul For You'
Basara stopped his actions completely. He looked up at her, and she could see that he had a very, *very* surprised expression on his face.
	"What?" she asked.
"I didn't sing that song." He said looking at her in disbelief. *she remembers*
"What?! But I clearly remember it! I even remember the words…" Mylene scratched her head. *was only imagining things when I heard that song? Maybe it was just a dream…like before…* "Look forget about it Basara…" Mylene said, a bit disappointed. "I probably was really tired, and just hearing things-"
Basara's singing interrupted her sentence. He was singing 'My Soul For You'.
"That song!" Mylene exclaimed. "I wasn't imagining it!"
Basara watched her as her sang. He was singing it with more emotion than usual, and her was wondering why. He quickly flung that thought aside though, and threw himself into the music. *it's working!* He thought happily. *I'm making her remember.* He wondered how long it would take her to remember him again. Then he caught himself. *Why do I want her to remember me so much!? It's not like I'll gain anything…if she remembers she'll just start yelling and criticizing me again! How go can that be!?* His conscience fought back on that thought…but unfortunately it didn't fight hard enough, and that precious thought was thrown back into that little locked corner of his heart.
When he finished the song, Mylene was sleeping soundly and peacefully in her bed. He pulled the covers over her and tucked her in. Mylene snuggled closer to Gubaba who was sleeping on her pillow.
He looked at her. She looked so innocent…and sweet.
*All kids are like that!* a voice in him yelled.
Funny enough another voice yelled back. *She's different! She's special…she can be annoying at times but she does mean something……*
*That little brat?! Are you NUTS?! She's done nothing but give you headaches! She never understands anything, and all she does is yell at you!! You could settle for much, much, much better…*
Basara shook his head, hard! He hated it when he had argument with himself, because it usually gets him nowhere, and he ends up all confused about what he truly feels. Especially when those arguments are about Mylene…He hadn't figured out what she meant to him.
Is she just the bass player and back-up singer of his band?
Is she just the other member who fights on sound force?
Is she just the annoying little kid who never gets tired of yelling at him?
	Or does she mean more………?
He finally came to a conclusion that he needs more time to think things through. He looked at Mylene one last time, then with a sigh, he waked out of the room.

Mylene was let out of the hospital the next day…
