Macross Battle7 fleet

"You have to think of something!!"
Mylene Jenius screamed at her father. (AKA Captain Maxmilian Jenius)
"You told us to leave them there, now you think of a way to get them out!!!"
Despite her daughter's angry shouts, Captain Jenius was very calm.
"I did that because if we stayed, we all would have died."
Mylene was quite for a while. A tear had started to form in one of her eyes, and she wiped it away angrily. "We have to go back and save them."
"We will." Captain Jenius said. "But with the amount of survivors and our military power, we wouldn't stand much of a chance against them."
"Then what are you planing to do?" Mylene asked, not even looking at him.
"We're going back to the City7. We'll call in our back-up soldiers, load up our gun power, think of a good plan, and then we'll go back and save them."
"Yeah well, by the time we're ready they're probably dead already." Mylene snorted.
"I wouldn't say so. Lieutenant Gamlin and Nekki Basara are two of the most determined men I've ever met. I think they'll be alright."
"Well, what if you're wrong?"
"Mylene, this is one sure thing you can trust me on." Captain Jenius said with a smile.

Enemy ship; south compartment; prison room CJ76

Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Will you just be quite!?" Nekki Basara shouted at the other man who was locked in with him. Gamlin Kizaki turned around. "Damn! These walls are harder than steel."
"Yeah well, they're probably harder than diamonds."
Gamlin looked at him and shouted angrily. "How can you act as if nothing has happened!? We're up against these enemies we've never faced before! There must be hundreds, no, THOUSANDS of these things! They're not even like protodevils, which we could just defeat with song energy! All we know about them is that they want to destroy city7, and that they do have the ability to do that! And oh yeah! We've also been taken hostage!!!! So if I were you, I would get my ass off that ground and start thinking about an escape plan!!!!!!!"

"Are you done complaining?" Basara asked, looking very annoyed.
"WHAT!? WERE YOU EVEN LISTING TO ME!? I SAID…"
"I heard you, I heard you." Basara interrupted. "There's no use. There are at least twenty guards out there, and the walls are all sealed up. We've only got one way out, and that's through the way we came in. The enemies are probably going to ask us a few questions, so that's the only chance we have at escaping."
"That's you're escape plan?!"
"You got any better ideas, Einstein?"
"……" Gamlin was out of words. He sat down on the hard ground. At least they were nice enough to not chain us up! He thought sarcastically. Of all the people in the world, why Me?! Not only getting captured, but stuck in the same cell as my worst nightmare! That stupid imbecile that only knows how to sing! OH! There he goes again! Does he have any idea that this is definitely not the time and place for singing!? Ugh…… …
Basara leaned against the wall and closed his eyes as he sang. He knew they were in a bad situation, and that they needed to escape. But there was nothing they could do now but wait for their chance…or maybe there's another way……
Basara's voice grew louder and louder. He was very deep in thought, and somehow singing always helps to clear his mind and come up with better ideas.

Gamlin sighed. He knew that Basara wasn't going to listen to him. But Basara was right. There was nothing they could do but wait. He also leaned against the wall. There wasn't even a window to look out. He sighed again.
Don't worry, Captain Jenius. I won't tell them anything. I give you my word that I will escape and return to Macross7.
Please wait for me, Mylene san……

City7; Doctor Chiba's private lab

Captain Jenius, Mayor Millia, Mylene, Ray, Viffedas, and the remaining part of the army arrived on time. Doctor Chiba greeted them at the door.
"Welcome! I've herd about the emergency, and I think I found the solution…or should I say…the solution found me…"
"Really?!" Mylene asked, "You can save them?"
"I would say we have a better chance then we had before!" Doctor Chiba smiled.
"Have you found out anymore about the enemy and why they want to destroy city7?"
"I sure did!"
Doctor Chiba's reply surprised everyone.
Doctor Chiba led them into his lab.
"Wow…" Mylene looked around. It was the biggest lab she's ever been in. There were all sorts of scientific equipment, and a lot of weird looking gizmos and gadgets.

"I've analyzed the nerve waves of these unknown enemy, and I found something interesting…" Doctor Chiba led them to a huge computer. He sat down on a chair and started to type in his access code. Once he was through, he called out the samples of the nerve waves.
"See…?" He asked them.
"See what?" Mylene asked confused. "I don't see anything."
"…They're scared!" Captain Jenius said, surprised.
"Exactly!" Doctor Chiba smiled proudly. "They fear something. They fear it so much that they feel they need to destroy city7."
"Why!?" Mayor Millia asked. "Why does city7 have anything to do with it?"
"Because," doctor Chiba said, "I think what they fear may be on City7. Because they're not sure where it is, they want to destroy the whole city.
"That's absurd!!" Mayor Millia shouted. "They can't do that!"
"With the amount of military power they have now, They can blow up a whole planet if they wanted to." Captain Jenius said.
"That's not what I meant!" Mayor Millia shouted back. "What I was saying was…"
"Mom! Dad! This is not the time to fight!" Mylene interrupted. "Two people's lives are at stake, and this is all you can think of to do?"
Captain Jenius turned back to doctor Chiba. "Do you think we can end this without fighting? Maybe if we give them what they want…"
"We can't." Doctor Chiba said.
"Why not?" Mylene asked. "You did say what they wanted was on city7. All we have to do is find out what it is!"
Doctor Chiba shook his head. "Let me show you something else. Follow me, please."

He led them into another room, and there stood a huge machine.
"Do you mind explaining what that is?" Mayor Millia asked.
"That's exactly what I intend to do." Doctor Chiba smiled. "This, is a transporter."
"It doesn't look like any transporters we have…" Captain Jenius said, tilting his head.
"Because it's not just any transporter!" Doctor Chiba said smiling widely,
"It's a time transporter!"
Everyone was quite for a while. They all had a confused look on their faces.
"You see…" Doctor Chiba explained, "The transporters we have now can just transport people from one place to another in the same time zone. This baby can transport people to different places in DIFFERENT time zones!"
"So…" Mayor Millia started, "You're saying that you can use this machine to bring people from the past or future here?"
"Precisely!" Doctor Chiba folded his arms around his chest, proudly.
"I'm very happy you made another wonderful invention, doctor," Captain Jenius said, "but may I ask what this machine can do for us in a situation like this?"
Doctor Chiba scratched his head. "Well…lately I've been picking up this signal on my radar, saying that this person knows how to help…and …well…he told me to build this machine…"
Mayor Millia was getting mad. "So you're telling us, that you did all this because your radar picked up some signal? And you don't even know if it's a prank!?"
"It can't be a prank." Doctor Chiba said. "The person sent me the instructions to build this machine, and I had analyzed it. Everything made sense. It's not something a little kid could come up with!"
"So, what are you trying to tell us?" Captain Jenius asked.
"I'm trying to tell you, that there is someone out there who knows a lot about these enemies we're facing, and that the person is willing to help us fight them."
"Are you serious?" Mayor Millia asked.
"Of course!" Doctor Chiba replied. "Only problem is, this person is in the future…"
"What!?" Mayor Millia and Captain Jenius both shouted.
"That's why he told me to build this machine! So I can bring him here!"
"I see……"Captain Jenius said. "Well, is the machine done building? Can we use it?"
"Yup!" Doctor Chiba said. "Only problem is…"
"…How do we notify this person." Mayor Millia finished for him.
Doctor Chiba nodded his head. "He can contact us, but we can't contact him."
"Well then what do we do now?!" Mylene, who had been quite for a while finally spoke up.
Doctor Chiba sighed. "Nothing, until that person contacts me again…"
"We don't have time to play games, doctor…" Captain Jenius said in a very serious voice. "We need to find a way to stop these things, whatever they are, and we need to save Gamlin and Basara as soon as possible. We don't know what these enemies might do to them. AND, we DON'T have time to wait for this mysterious signal sender!"
"Captain Jenius, I would advise you to wait…" Ray said, stepping out from behind Mylene.
"And why is that?" Captain Jenius asked.
"We don't know anything about these enemies," Ray said, "We've fought them once, but lost very badly. It is too risky to attack, because we KNOW we're going to lose.
Our only chance is to find out more about these things, then figure out a way to deal with them."
"Then what about lieutenant Gamlin and Nekki Basara?" Mayor Millia asked.
"Lady luck had always been on our side…" Ray said. "Let's just hope she's with us this time too…Hey! Mylene! Where are you going?!"

Before Ray could finish his sentence, Mylene stormed out of the room. Ray chased after her.
Mylene stormed out of doctor Chiba's house and went straight for her car. Ray walked in front of her.
"Where are you going, Mylene?" he asked, a little out of breath.
"If nobody's going to go save them, then I'll go myself!" She said.
"Don't be stupid, Mylene!" Ray said. "You know you can't do that!"
"Oh yes I can! Hey! Hey! Let go of me!"
Ray grabbed Mylene's shoulders and looked into her eyes.
"Listen Mylene. I know you're worried about them, and so am I! But we need to calm down and analyze the situation. If we go and save them, they have a better chance of dying no more than we do. Trust me, Mylene. I'm sure they'll be okay!"
"How do you know?" Mylene asked looking away, tears starting to form in her eyes.
"How do I put this…" Ray said with a smile. "Basara and I always had sort of a ……connection. If something happened to him…I could always tell."
"Are you making this up just to make me feel better?"
"Have I ever lied to you before, Mylene?" Ray asked her.
"……"
"Come on, I'll drive you home." Ray took the car keys from Mylene's hand.

Mylene looked up at the sky, as the wind blew across her face.
She wanted so much for this all to be just a bad dream.
So she could wake up the next day, and Basara would still be sitting up in his broken down apartment singing songs. Gamlin san would still be there to give her flowers after her concerts.
"Don't worry, Mylene." Ray said. "We'll save them. I promise."
Mylene knew everybody kept telling her that they'll be okay, but she just couldn't help to think to the bad side. What would she do if something did happen to them?
Mylene shook her head, hard. She had to admit that this was killing her.
She looked up to the sky again.
Please, Please let Basara and Gamlin san be okay……Please…!!
