::There aren't any flowers...::
Mylene noted as she closed the door behind her. The hollow thud that followed was unfamiliar
to her dizzy ears. Concerts always made her a bit dizzy... or maybe she was upset. She shook
her head. No. She wasn't exactly upset... It's just that she began to grow accostomed to finding
flowers on her dressing room table.
::I gotta get out of these clothes::
She unclasped the white choker around her moist neck. The leather was nice to look at, but it
caused her skin to feel incredibly damp and gross.
::I guess that means Gamlin didn't come either...::
Mylene didn't know what to think... had she done something to offend him? She glanced at
herself in the full length star-studded mirror.
::I gotta wash my hair.::
*~*~*~*~*~*
Ray thought outloud as he unplugged the last of his equipment. "I guess everything's okay...
I should check up on everyone though." He coiled the last wires before heading to the backstage
area. Just then, Mylene appeared out of her dressing room.
She glanced down the corridor happy to find that Ray was still there. "Ray!" she exclaimed
while waving.
He smiled as he walked toward the girl. "Is everything okay?"
Mylene smiled nervously. "I actually need a ride home... my car's in the shop and i think
Basara left."
Ray arched an eyebrow. "Gamlin didn't come?"
She rubbed the back of her head sheepishly before replying. "I guess not."
Ray frowned. "Is everything okay between the two of you?"
Mylene ground her teeth before clenching her fists. "Mou! It's not that big of a deal! I'll just
go home with Akiko then!"
Ray raised his hands. "Wait! I'll give you a ride, I was just shocked that's all."
::It's a bigger deal than you thought.:: Mylene relaxed her hands. "Don't be."
*~*~*~*~*~*
The car pulled up in front of the immense building. "Thanks Ray."
"No problem." he answered rather warmly while she unbuckled her seatbelt.
"Whenever you need me, all you have to do is ask."
Mylene nodded as she climbed out of van. "I will. Thanks again Ray!" She closed the door a
little harder than she thought, causing Ray's window to vibrate from the impact.
He sweatdropped as he watched the obviously annoyed girl retreat to her apartment.
::I guess it can't be helped::
*~*~*~*~*~*
Mylene trudged up the empty stairs. The building was so quiet at night. It was too quiet
for Mylene's liking. She could hear nothing but loud thoughts. ::I guess its over...
i mean, How long did you expect it to last?... you've never even kissed him... there's
probably plenty of other military girls who probably treat him better:: Mylene covered her
ears and proceeded to hasten her footsteps. "Mou!"
She finally reached the 3rd floor. As she approached her apartment door, she gasped to find
it slightly ajar. :: oh no::
She paused, unable to move.
::should i call someone?::
Boy did she wish Gamlin was there.
::No.::
She shook her head while clutching her guitar case more tightly.
::I can use my guitar as a weapon.::
Yes... She had the advantage...
She pushed the door a little more with her foot.
::What if they have a gun? or a laser?::
Mylene shook her head. She couldn't be afraid.
::i can't afford to be afraid::
She entered, tightening the grip on her case. "H-hello?"
She released one hand to search for the light switch. Her digits trembled along
the wall until they felt a protrusion. ::yoshi...:: She flipped the switch, gasping
again at the sight that lay before her.
She relaxed her grip on the guitar & case as she studied her apartment. In her amazement and
shock, she failed to notice the distinct hands reaching for her bundle.
"I'll take that." said the familiar voice. He gently pried the case and guitar from Mylene's
already limp fingers. ::The shock is probably too much for her to take.::
She barely heard the door slam behind her as she studied the room. She barely even felt the
delliberate firmness of the hands now resting on her bare shoulders.
"What do you think?" He questioned in a hopeful whisper.
"G-gamlin... did you do this?"
He nodded. "yes." He grinned as he watched the shock in her face. ::kawaii... no... Kirei is
more like it:: his eyes glistened in content. "i wanted to surprise you..."
Mylene nodded. "i'm surprised..."
He turned her body around to face his.
Mylene continued despite the arms guiding her. " very.. very--"
her words were stopped by his fingers.
Gamlin sucked in a quick breath of air as he felt the softness of her lips beneath his finger.
::very soft...:: He removed his fingers from her mouth, fighting the urge to plant a sloppy,
hard kiss on them. "i'm sorry i couldn't make it to your concert."
Mylene blushed at the tone of his voice. His aggression shocked her more than the rose
petals scattered beautifully about her appartment. "it's okay." She looked into his face
only to look down at some rose petals beneath her.
Gamlin frowned, yet Mylene failed to notice. :: did i overwhelm her.:: Gamlin eased the grip on
her shoulders. ::maybe i should take this a little more slowly--:: his thoughts were interrupted.
"Umm, Would you like me to make us some coffee?" Her voice was bright.
Gamlin removed his hands. "sure."
*~*~*~*~*~*
Mylene sipped at the cup nervously. For the first time she realized just how much she enjoyed
Gamlin's company. She was slowly seeing different sides to the liutenant. Different aspects
of himself that complimented and accented the sides of him which she had already loved.
::what to say... i don't want to trip up... not now.::
Suddenly, an image burst in her mind, causing her to emit a low chuckle.
Gamlin grinned. "What's so funny?"
Mylene tucked some stray pink strands of hair behind her ears.
"no, I was just remembering that tonight I almost tripped on someone's arm."
Gamlin smiled.
"How did that happen?"
"Somebody grabbed my leg as i was walking across the stage and i barely stopped myself from
falling... luckily the lights had just turned off."
Gamlin sighed. "It's not easy loving someone who is loved by millions."
Mylene blushed.
"So i guess you are my millionth fan."
Gamlin shook his head.
"I am your number one fan."
Mylene folded her arms.
"Nope... Do you remember that creepy little boy?"
Gamlin chuckled while resting his cup on the lampshade.
"ah yes... but I have all your cd's, all your mp3s, the keys to your apartment, your phone
number and i've been to most of your concerts."
"I don't think that's enough." Mylene said pompously.
"it isn't." Gamlin replied. "i don't quite think i have your heart."
Mylene held the warm cup against her lap. "Well... You've got some of it."
Gamlin's eyes widened. "What will it take to get the rest of it?"
Mylene leaned closer to whisper into his ears. "I don't know... but judging by what you did
to my apartment, i think you've got some ideas... Lt. Gamlin."
Gamlin blushed. ::She's teasing me... how cruel::
As he sat frozen, Mylene reached over him to rest her mug next to his. As she moved to sit back
down, she was caught off guard by the arms the pulled her into his lap.
Gamlin held her close, resting his head on her shoulder. She smelled so good... like vanilla
ice cream, or some other vanilla goody. "Mylene... I want to be your number one."
Mylene lowered her eyes. "Fan?"
Gamlin shook his head. "No. I want to be your everything." And with that, he begun to place
feather-light kisses on her neck and shoulders.
Before either of them knew it, their lips had met. It was better than either of them had
dreamed... This closeness was intoxicating. Gamlin's love and passion was beginning to be
contagious, overwhelming, and utterly irresistable. Mylene's head began to spin, as she
found herself pinned against the sofa, kissing back with all her might.
Gamlin began to lose it. ::This is too much.:: And although he wanted this more than anything,
he didn't want to go overboard. He allowed their lips to brush gently for a brief second before
slowly pulling away. He opened his eyes, only to gaze at the disappointed visage of the object
of all his hopes and desires. ::Kawaii... no... more like kirei::
"Why'd you stop?" Mylene half-pouted as she touched a hand to his broad shoulder.
Gamlin smiled. "I think we should continue this at another time... it is 3:30 in the morning...
besides," he said in a loving whisper, "you're probably exhausted from your concert." He
brushed his fingers across the skin on her cheek. "Sorry I couldn't make it."
Mylene closed her eyes, feeling more relaxed than she did in a while. She had been tired... and
a bit dizzy. She always felt dizzy after concerts.
