Trip Of Horror To The Moon Light Inn
Chapter 2: The Arrival
Mylene was kind enough to give Basara ten more minutes to get his things ready, and wash himself up. Humph! That pig. She thought, as Basara finally hopped into the van.
"So…where is this place anyway?" He asked Ray.
"It's up north of city 7. Galaxy highway number 94 should take us there." Ray replied.
Basara looked over at Mylene and frowned. "Stop moving around and sit still!"
"I'm excited!" Mylene said. "Aren't you?"
"What's there to be excited about?"
"It's the Moon Light Inn!! How can you not be excited to go there?!"
"So? I've been in big houses before."
"But this one's different!"
"What makes it so special?"
"It's haunted!!"
Basara chuckled. "You little kids believe in everything, don't you?"
"I'm not a little kid, and it's true!! Everybody knows!"
"Then how come I don't?"
"Shows how much you know, baka."
"What did you say?!"
"You heard me."
"Stupid little kid…"
"Hey!"
Up at the driver's seat, Ray sighed. How am I suppose to survive two hours of this?!
He looked over his shoulder.
Basara and Mylene were screaming their heads off at each other.
"Hey! Hey! Hey!" Ray finally had enough. "We have another hour and forty minutes to go! Save your energy!"
"She started it…" Basara mumbled.
"Always blaming everybody else but yourself!"
"Okay, okay! That's enough! Stop fighting like a married couple!" Ray said to them.
Both Mylene and Basara's eyes budged out as they screamed at Ray at the same time.
"WHAT!?"
"It's true." Ray said with a smile. "You should see yourselves fight sometime." Then he winked at Mylene. "You guys look like her parents."
Mylene went bright red and said, "we do not!!"
Ray just smiled and turned back to the steering wheel. There were no more shouts coming from them. Finally, some peace and quite!
After a long while, Ray finally announced, "okay, everyone! We're here!"
There was no answer.
Ray was expecting to hear Mylene's excited shouts, and was surprised to hear nothing. He turned around. "Mylene? Basara?"
Behind him in the back seats, Mylene and Basara were sound asleep. Ray shook his head and looked at Viffedas. She nodded.
Viffedas stood up, and walked over towards the two. She took her drumstick and whammed it against her symbol as hard as she could.
Basara and Mylene sat straight up. "Ah!!!! What?! What?!"
"Good morning." Ray said with a smile.
Mylene frowned. Basara rubbed his vibrating ear. "Can't you find a better way to wake me up?!"
"Unfortunately, it takes more than a war to wake you up, Basara." Ray replied.
"Well, what about me?" Mylene complained.
Ray shrugged. "You were sitting right next to him, I thought might as well…"
"Yeah, yeah, I get the point…" Mylene suddenly remembered something.
"Ray! The Flxenbergs!!"
Ray smiled. "I called them already. They said it was okay, since most of the guest had a bit trouble getting there too."
Mylene let out a huge breath. "Are we there yet, Ray?"
Ray smiled and motioned to the window. Mylene looked out and gasped.
"The Moon Light Inn!!"
Before them, surrounded by stars, floated the Moon Light Inn.
They could only see the roof of the great mansion because it was surrounded by a forest of trees. Behind the mansion, The golf course seemed to stretch for miles.
"It's so BIG!!" Mylene exclaimed, her eyes sparkling.
"It's almost half the size of city7." Ray said.
"Really?!" Mylene's eyes were glued to the window.
"Do they have a garage or something?" Basara asked, concerned about the placement of his valkery.
"That big of a house must have something, right?" Ray smiled.
Mylene turned around and frowned at him.
"Do you have to take that thing every where you go?"
Basara ignored her. Mylene shook her head and turned back to the window.
They pulled up to the front of the Moon Light Inn, and the huge gates slowly opened. Mylene's eyes (if possible) widened even more. "Whee! Here we come!"
Basara shot an annoyed look at her. He didn't understand why she was so excited.
He sighed. Little kids…
A very well dressed young man walked up to the van.
"Welcome!" he said with a bright smile. "I shall show to storage area C2."
Ray drove slowly and followed the man into the woods.
They stopped in front of a thick of tall trees. Ray looked confused. This is the storage area? The man took out a remote from his coat pocket and pushed a button.
The ground started to vibrate.
"What the..?" Mylene asked as she tried to steady herself.
"The storage area must be hidden under ground." Basara said, as he saw the trees begin to part.
"why?" Mylene asked.
"Think about it." Ray said, turning around. "Look at the whole setting if this place." He pointed out to the tall graceful trees and waterfalls. "It gives people a feeling that they're in the wood. Wouldn't it be very unpleasant if you were strolling along in the woods, all peace and quite; then all of a sudden you see a whole bunch of cars and valkeries?"
"Good point…" Mylene replied. "Man, the people who designed this place thought of everything, huh?"
"The people who designed this place are dead." Basara said.
"Can you just drop the sarcasm for one second?" Mylene snarled.
"I'm not being sarcastic." He replied.
"Well, it sure sounds a heck of a lot like sarcasm to me!"
"Then that's your problem."
"What!?"
Ray shook his head. Not again…!
"Quiet, you two!"
The trees have completely parted, and the ground rose up to reveal an elevator. Ray drove in, and the elevator started to slowly drop below the ground.
When the elevator stopped, they were in a huge storage room. There were cars and valkeries parked there already. Mylene recognized the blue car, and said cheerfully, "Ah! Gamlin san's here already!"
Basara turned. "Don't tell me you invited that pinhead…"
"He is not a pinhead!!" Mylene yelled. "And yes, I did invite him!"
Basara shook his head. "I still say he's a pin head…"
"Then that's your problem." Mylene said imitating him.
Basara frowned, grumbled something, and then turned back to the window.
Ray parked the van, and told everybody to get off. Mylene soon forgot about her anger, and was back to her excited mood. "I can't believe we're here!"
The man that showed them here walked up to them.
"Welcome to the Moon Light Inn." He said. "I will be assisting you for the week with your needs. My name is Vinx." He bowed.
"Thank you, Vinx." Ray said. "Will you show us to the mansion?"
"Why of course!" Vinx said. "Follow me, please."
They came out from the storage room, and walked along a little mountain trail. Sunlight was pouring in from the treetops. The leaves rustled as the wind blew on them. Sounds of birds could clearly be heard within the mists of trees. Flowers gave of wonderful and exotic scents.
Mylene threw her arms out and turned around in circles. "Wow! This is like a real forest!"
Vinx smiled at her. "Look over there!"
Mylene gasped as she saw a group of deer grazing on some tender grass near a creek.
"Oh! They're so cute!"
"Where'd you get all these animals?" Basara asked as a squirrel raced across his feet.
"They were here when Mr. and Mrs. Flxenberg brought the Moon Light Inn. I suspect the builders had put these animals here.
After walking for another five minutes, The big mansion came into view.
"There it is!" Mylene cried out.
"Be careful, Mylene san!" Vinx said.
Mylene looked across and saw that the end of the path led to a deep valley.
"How do we get across?!"
"Stupid little kid, look over there!" Basara pointed to the left. Mylene turned.
"Ah! A suspension bridge!"
Vinx led them onto the bridge. "Is it safe?" Ray asked. Viffedas tapped her drum- sticks against the side of the bridge.
"Of course!" Vinx replied a bright smile. He patted the side of the bridge. "This baby can hold just about anything!"
"I don't know…" Ray said. "IT looks a bit old to me…what do you think Basara?…Basara? Mylene?"
Ray looked and saw Mylene and Basara already half way across the bridge. "Hurry up!" Mylene shouted at Ray.
Ray sighed. "I guess it's safe then…" He said, and stepped onto the bridge.
They crossed quickly and headed towards the mansion. It was indeed a very, very big. Mylene was at the door before anyone else. Vinx finally came up to the door, and took out his key. Mylene was about to die from excitement.
