SILENCE
The lips I once
warmly kissed,
lie cold beneath the ground.
The laughter then,
is now but in
disturbing dreams.
Death's sting you feared
but now you understand.
Passing time
cannot erase our love.
No closer friends
could anywhere be found.
I dream, and there
I hold
Your living hands,
I sleep, and I
redeem your quickened heart,
but then,
the morning dawns
and once again,
silence.
