The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, built by Freelan O. Stanley (co-inventor of the Stanley Steamer automobile) in 1909. Stephen King lived here for several months and was inspired by his stay to write "The Shining". The 1997 mini series of the same name was filmed here, as well as part of "Dumb and Dumber".
