The Milky Way

This wide angle view of our galaxy is centered around the constellation Sagittarius, where the center of the galaxy is located. You can see the "teapot" shape of Sagittarius in the bottom center of this image (the teapot is standing on its handle, and the "spout" is to the right of the dense, yellowish starcloud.) Also visible in this image are numerous red patches, which are nebulae like the Lagoon, Eagle, and Swan.
